You can enjoy iPod audio contents by connecting this unit to an AV system with DIGITAL MEDIA PORT interface (Sony DAV series, etc.). You can operate your iPod by its control buttons, the control buttons of

the AV system and the remote supplied with the AV system (page 10). You can also use this unit as a battery charger (page 9).

Notes DIGITAL MEDIA PORT is occasionally abbreviated as DMPORT. TDM-iP10 does not support video output. Even if your iPod has video/photo

capability, you cannot view video or photo contents on the TV or other video devices. However, audio content in video files can be played back with a connected AV system.

The adapter number qa, 0 or 9 is shown on bottom-rear of each Dock Adapter. When you use other iPod models, a compatible Dock Adapter from Apple Inc. will need to be purchased separately.

Connect and position the TDM-iP10 as illustrated below.

Note This unit turns on/off automatically whenever the connected AV system (DAV series, etc.) turns on/off.

To connect/disconnect the unit

Connecting

1 Connect the DIGITAL MEDIA PORT cable of this unit to the DIGITAL MEDIA PORT jack of an AV system (DAV series, etc.). Make sure the AV system is turned off before connecting.

2 Turn on the AV system with a DIGITAL MEDIA PORT jack connected to this unit, and select the DIGITAL MEDIA PORT function.

Disconnecting Before disconnecting, turn off the AV system.

To put the iPod into the units connector

1 Choose the iPod Dock Adapter that fits your iPod (page 6).

2 Insert the Dock Adapter into the unit.

3 Put the iPod into the units connector.

DMPORT To DMPORT jack

Connect the cable so that both f marks are aligned.

To remove the DIGITAL MEDIA PORT cable from the DMPORT jack, press both side buttons.

Notes When placing or removing the iPod,

handle the iPod in the same angle as that of the iPod connector on this unit and do not twist or sway the iPod to prevent connector damage.

Do not carry the unit with an iPod set on the connector. Doing so may cause a malfunction.

When placing or removing the iPod, brace the unit with one hand and take care not to press the controls of the iPod by mistake.

To use the unit as a battery charger You can use the unit as a battery charger. While the POWER indicator lights up, the battery is charging. The charging status appears in the iPod display. For details, see the users guide of your iPod.

To remove the iPod Dock Adapter

To remove the iPod Dock Adapter, pull it up with your fingernail or a flat object using the slot inside the adapter.

You can operate your iPod by its control buttons, the control buttons of a connected AV system with a DIGITAL MEDIA PORT interface (Sony DAV series, etc.), and the remote supplied with the AV system.

Notes To use an iPod, refer to the users

guide of your iPod. Before disconnecting the iPod, pause

playback.

Basic Operations The following operations are available with the AV system or the remote.

Notes Point the remote at the AV system. Depending on the connected AV

system, the operation or buttons may differ. Refer to the AV systems operating instructions.

While playing video, you cannot use m/M. You can fast-rewind (fast- forward) by holding down ./>.

To change the volume level, use the volume controls on the connected AV system or the remote. The volume level does not change even if adjusted on the iPod.

It may take time to start playback depending on the contents.

Should you encounter a problem with your unit, find your problem in the troubleshooting checklist below and take the indicated corrective action. If the problem persists, contact your Sony dealer. Note that if service personnel changes some parts during repair, these parts may be retained. When bringing the system in for repairs, be sure to bring in the entire system. This product is a system product, and the entire system is needed to determine the location requiring repair.

The remote does not function. Remove any obstacles. Point the remote at the AV

system (DAV series, etc.)s sensor.

The distance between the remote and the AV system is too far.

Replace the battery. Make sure the iPod* is securely

connected. Select the DMPORT function

on the AV system. Turn on and off the AV system.

Video/photo image from the iPod does not appear on the TV screen.

The unit does not support video output. Even if your iPod has video/photo capability, you cannot view video or photo content on the TV or other video devices.

There is no sound. Check the connections. Make sure the unit is securely

connected. Make sure the iPod* is securely

connected. Make sure the iPod* is playing

music. It may take time to start

playback depending on the contents.

There is severe hum or noise. Move the unit away from the

source of noise.

The sound is distorted. Reduce the volume of the

connected AV system. Set the EQ setting of the iPod

to Off or Flat.

On safety Should any solid object or liquid fall into the system, unplug the system and have it checked by qualified personnel before operating it any further.

On placement Do not place the unit in an

On heat buildup Although the unit heats up

during operation, this is not a malfunction.

Place the unit in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent heat buildup in the unit.

If you have any questions or problems concerning your unit, please consult your nearest Sony dealer.

Cleaning the unit Clean the unit with a soft cloth slightly moistened with mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring powder or solvent such as thinner, benzine or alcohol.

Vous pouvez bnficier du contenu audio de liPod en connectant cette unit un systme AV laide dune interface DIGITAL MEDIA PORT (srie DAV Sony, etc.). Vous pouvez actionner votre iPod au moyen de ses touches de

commande, des touches de commande du systme AV et de la tlcommande fournie avec le systme AV (page 10).

Vous pouvez galement utiliser cette unit comme chargeur de batterie (page 9).

Remarques Occasionnellement, labrviation DMPORT est utilise pour dsigner DIGITAL

MEDIA PORT. TDM-iP10 ne prend pas en charge la sortie vido. Mme si votre iPod comporte

des fonctions vido/photo, vous ne pouvez pas visualiser un contenu vido ou photo sur un tlviseur ou un autre priphrique vido. Vous pouvez toutefois couter le contenu audio de fichiers vido avec un systme AV connect.

Pour connecter/ dconnecter lunit

Connexion

1 Connectez le cble DIGITAL MEDIA PORT de cette unit la prise DIGITAL MEDIA PORT dun systme AV (srie DAV, etc.). Veillez ce que le systme AV soit hors tension avant deffectuer la connexion.

2 Mettez le systme AV sous tension avec une prise DIGITAL MEDIA PORT connecte cette unit, puis slectionnez la fonction DIGITAL MEDIA PORT.

Dconnexion Avant la dconnexion, mettez le systme AV hors tension.

Pour placer liPod dans le connecteur de lunit

1 Choisissez ladaptateur de socles pour iPod qui correspond votre iPod (page 6).

2 Insrez ladaptateur de socles dans lunit.

3 Placez liPod dans le connecteur de lunit.

Connectez le cble de sorte que les deux marques f soient alignes.

Pour retirer le cble DIGITAL MEDIA PORT de la prise DMPORT, appuyez sur les boutons des deux cts.

Remarques Lorsque vous placez ou retirez liPod,

tenez liPod au mme angle que celui du connecteur iPod sur lunit et ne tournez ni ne faites osciller liPod afin dviter dendommager le connecteur.

Ne transportez pas lunit si un iPod est plac sur le connecteur. Cela risque de provoquer un dysfonctionnement.

Lorsque vous placez ou retirez liPod, maintenez lunit dune main et veillez ne pas appuyer par inadvertance sur les commandes de liPod.

Pour utiliser lunit comme chargeur de batterie Vous pouvez galement utiliser lunit comme chargeur de batterie. Lorsque le tmoin POWER sallume, la batterie charge. Ltat de chargement saffiche dans lcran de liPod. Pour plus de dtails, consultez le mode demploi de votre iPod.

Pour retirer ladaptateur de socles pour iPod

Pour retirer ladaptateur de socles pour iPod, tirez-le avec un ongle ou un objet plat au moyen de la fente lintrieur de ladaptateur.

Vous pouvez actionner liPod au moyen de ses touches de commande, des touches de commande dun systme AV connect via une interface DIGITAL MEDIA PORT (srie DAV Sony, etc.) et la tlcommande fournie avec le systme AV.

Remarques Pour utiliser un iPod, reportez-vous

au mode demploi de votre iPod. Avant de dbrancher liPod,

suspendez la lecture.

Oprations de base Les oprations suivantes sont disponibles via le systme AV ou la tlcommande.

Remarques Dirigez la tlcommande vers le

systme AV. En fonction du systme AV connect,

le fonctionnement ou les touches peuvent varier. Reportez-vous au mode demploi du systme AV.

Durant la lecture dune vido, vous ne pouvez pas utiliser m/M. Vous pouvez reculer rapidement (avancer rapidement) en maintenant la touche ./> enfonce.

Pour modifier le niveau du volume, utilisez les commandes de volume du systme AV connect ou de la tlcommande. Le niveau du volume ne change pas sil est rgl sur liPod.

Le dmarrage de la lecture peut prendre du temps. Cela dpend du contenu.

Si vous rencontrez un problme avec votre unit, recherchez votre problme dans la liste de contrle de dpannage ci-dessous et appliquez la mesure corrective indique. Si le problme persiste, contactez votre revendeur Sony. Notez que si un technicien remplace certaines pices lors dune rparation, celles-ci pourront tre conserves. Lorsque vous apportez le systme pour une rparation, apportez tous ses lments. Ce produit forme un ensemble et tous les lments du systme sont ncessaires pour dterminer le point ncessitant une rparation.

La tlcommande ne fonctionne pas.

Enlevez tout obstacle. Dirigez la tlcommande vers le

capteur du systme AV (srie DAV, etc.).

La distance entre la tlcommande et le systme AV est trop importante.

Remplacez la pile. Assurez-vous que liPod* est

correctement raccord.

Slectionnez la fonction DMPORT sur le systme AV.

Mettez le systme AV sous et hors tension.

Limage vido/photo de liPod ne saffiche pas sur lcran du tlviseur.

Lunit ne prend pas en charge la sortie vido. Mme si votre iPod comporte des fonctions vido/photo, vous ne pouvez pas visualiser un contenu vido ou photo sur un tlviseur ou autre priphrique vido.

Il ny a pas de son. Vrifiez les connexions. Assurez-vous que lunit est

correctement connecte. Assurez-vous que liPod* est

correctement connect. Assurez-vous que liPod* lit de

la musique. Le dmarrage de la lecture peut

prendre du temps. Cela dpend du contenu.

Ronflement ou parasites importants.

loignez lunit de la source de parasites.

Il y a une distorsion du son. Rduisez le volume du systme

AV connect. Placez le rglage galiseur

de liPod sur Dsactiv ou Plat .

Scurit Si un objet ou du liquide tombe lintrieur de lunit, dbranchez- la et faites-la contrler par un technicien qualifi avant de la rutiliser.

Lieu dinstallation Ne placez pas lunit en

position incline. Ne placez pas lunit dans un

endroit : extrmement chaud ou froid ; poussireux ou sale ; trs humide ; soumis des vibrations ; en plein soleil.

Prenez les prcautions ncessaires lors de linstallation de lunit sur des surfaces traites (cires, huiles, vernies, etc.) pour viter lapparition de taches ou la dcoloration de la surface.

Accumulation de chaleur Lunit chauffe pendant le

fonctionnement, mais ce nest pas une anomalie.

Placez lunit dans un endroit bien ar pour viter toute accumulation de chaleur lintrieur.

Pour toute question au sujet de cette unit ou tout problme, adressez-vous au revendeur Sony le plus proche.

Nettoyage de lunit Nettoyez lunit avec un chiffon doux lgrement imbib dune solution dtergente douce. Nutilisez pas de tampons abrasifs, de poudre rcurer ou des solvants tels que diluants, benzne ou alcool.

Para disfrutar del contenido de audio del iPod, conecte la unidad a un sistema de audio y vdeo que cuente con una interfaz DIGITAL MEDIA PORT (serie DAV de Sony, etc.). Es posible utilizar el iPod mediante sus propios botones de control, los

Para conectar o desconectar la unidad

Cuando coloque o extraiga el iPod, sujete la unidad con una mano e intente no pulsar ninguno de los controles del iPod por error.
