Notes When the mode change switch is set to VCR/CAMERA during charging,

charging stops. If the CHARGE lamp does not light or flash, check that the battery pack is

correctly attached to the AC adaptor/charger. If it is not attached it will not be charged.

When the CHARGE lamp flashes If a problem occurs during charging, the CHARGE lamp flashes and WARNING appears on the display. Check through the following chart.

Please contact your nearest Sony dealer in connection with the product with the problem.

Remove the battery pack from this unit, then install the same battery pack again.

If the CHARGE lamp flashes again: Install another battery pack.

If the CHARGE lamp lights and does not flash again: If the CHARGE lamp goes out because the charging time has passed, there is no problem.

If the CHARGE lamp flashes again: The problem is with this unit.

If the CHARGE lamp lights and does not flash again: If the CHARGE lamp goes out because the charging time has passed, the problem is with the battery pack first installed.

To remove the battery pack Slide the battery pack in the direction of the arrow, then lift it straight out.

To Check Charging While charging, you can check the charging time on the display. After starting charging in a minute, BATTERY LIFE lights up on the display.

Press DISPLAY CHANGE while charging. Each time you press DISPLAY CHANGE, the display changes as follows.

Notes The time display shows the approximate time when charging at 10C -

30C. The time display may differ from the actual charging time depending on using conditions and circumstances.

The time display may show in the following cases. However, the unit is not malfunctioning. The remaining battery time is less than 5 minutes. There is a difference between the displayed time and actual charging

time. Even if this happens, continue charging. Full charge requires about 1 hour after normal charge is completed. If you

remove the battery pack between normal charge and full charge, the charging time may not be displayed properly in the next charging.

If the charging time is not displayed properly, fully charge the battery pack. The charging time will be displayed properly.

When you attach a fully charged battery pack to this unit, TIME TO CHG FULL 1h may appear on the display. However, this is not a malfunction.

The remaining battery time may not be displayed depending on using conditions and circumstances of your video camera recorder and of the battery. See About the remaining time for more details.

You may wait for a while after pressing DISPLAY CHANGE until the display shows the time indication.

To display the remaining battery time of a new battery, attach it to your video camera recorder and use it for about 20 seconds. Then, charge the battery with this unit.

To Operate Video Equipment See illustration C.

Use the nearest wall outlet in case a problem occurs and you need to unplug this unit. If a problem occurs while you use this unit, you immediately cut the supply of electricity by unplug this unit. Use the supplied connecting cord. For details of the connection, refer to the instruction manual of the video equipment.

1 Set the mode change switch to VCR/CAMERA.

2 Connect the power cord to this unit.

3 Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

4 Connect the connecting cord A to the DC OUT connector of this unit.

5 Connect the connecting plateB to the video equipment.

When using the connecting cord While pressing the connecting plate B , slide it up. To remove the connecting plate, slide it down while pressing the battery release lever C.

Notes If you set the mode change switch to CHARGE while operating the video

equipment, the power supply to the video equipment stops. You cannot charge the battery pack attached to this unit while supplying

the power to the video equipment. Keep this unit away from the video equipment if the picture is disturbed.

The AC-VQ11 AC adaptor/charger can be used as follows: To charge a lithium ion type battery pack of the InfoLITHIUM battery

pack (S series). Ni-Cd/Nickel hydrogen type batteries are not rechargeable. The following functions are available with the InfoLITHIUM battery pack: Quickly charging Remaining charge time display

To enable the power supply using the house current to the video equipment which is applied to the InfoLITHIUM battery pack (S series), connection cord is included with this unit.

What is the InfoLITHIUM The InfoLITHIUM is a lithium ion battery pack which can exchange data with compatible electronic equipment about its battery consumption. Sony recommends that you use the InfoLITHIUM battery pack with electronic equipment having the mark. InfoLITHIUM is a trademark of Sony Corporation.

WARNING To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture.

To avoid electrical shock, do not open the cabinet. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.

AC power cord must be changed only at the qualified service shop.

Notes on Use About the AC power cord plug The AC-VQ11 comes in two models, differentiated by the shape of the AC power cord plug.

The model for USA and Canada: One blade of the plug is wider than the other for the purpose of safety and will fit into the power outlet only one way. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, contact your dealer.

About the remaining battery time While charging the battery pack, this unit will show the remaining battery time with your video equipment, etc. on the following conditions. Using the InfoLITHIUM battery pack Using the video equipment having the mark Make sure that you use the battery pack having the mark. Consult the operating instructions supplied with your video equipment if it is applied to InfoLITHIUM.

If you use the video equipment having the mark, the remaining battery time display of the battery pack being charged corresponds to the video equipment having the mark which is last attached to the battery pack.

Charging Use only a lithium ion type battery pack of the InfoLITHIUM battery pack (S series). This unit cannot be used to charge a Ni-Cd/Nickel hydrogen type battery pack. Attach the battery pack firmly. Charge the battery pack on a flat surface without vibration.

Charging temperature The temperature range for charging is 0C to 40C (32F to 104F). However, to provide maximum battery efficiency, the recommended temperature range when charging is 10C to 30C (50F to 86F).

Others The nameplate indicating operating voltage, power consumption, etc. is

located on the bottom. The negligible amount of electric current will flow into the AC adaptor/

charger as long as the AC adaptor/charger is plugged into the wall outlet. Unplug the unit from the wall outlet if it will not be used for extended

period of time. To disconnect the cord, pull it out by the plug. Never pull the cord itself.

Do not operate the unit with a damaged cord or if it has been dropped or damaged.

Be sure that nothing metallic comes into contact with the metal parts of the unit or connecting plate. If it does, a short may occur and the unit may be damaged.

Always keep the metal contacts clean. Do not disassemble or convert the unit. Do not apply mechanical shock or drop the unit. While the unit is in use, it gets warm. But this is normal. Keep the unit away from AM receivers, because it will disturb AM

reception. Do not place the unit in a location where it is:

Extremely hot or cold Dusty or dirty Very humid Vibrating

If any difficulty should arise, unplug the unit and contact your nearest Sony dealer.

To Charge the Battery Pack See illustration B.

1 Set the mode change switch to CHARGE.

2 Connect the power cord to this unit.

3 Connect the power cord to a wall outlet. The beep sounds and the display window lights up.

4 Install the battery pack. Charging begins. When the remaining battery indicator becomes and the CHARGE lamp lights up, normal charge is completed. For full charge, which allows you to use the battery slightly longer than normal charge, leave the battery pack attached until the CHARGE lamp goes out. Remove the battery pack when required. It can be used even if the charging is not completed.

To Install the battery pack 1 Place the battery pack on this unit with the b mark facing the

terminal shutter. 2 Slide the battery pack in the direction of the arrow.

Press the battery pack until the terminal shutter enters completely into this unit.

Note When you install the battery pack, be sure to not strike it to the terminal of the AC adaptor/charger. The terminal of the AC adaptor/charger may damage if you install the battery incorrectly.

Charging time The following table shows the charging time for the battery pack which is discharged completely.

Approximate minutes to charge an empty battery pack fully (Full charge). Approximate minutes in parentheses indicate the time when you charge

normally (Normal charge). To ascertain the battery life, refer to the instruction manual of the video

equipment which you use. The charging time may differ depending on the condition of the battery

pack or the temperature of the environment.

Carga Utilice solamente una batera de tipo de iones de litio InfoLITHIUM (serie S). Esta unidad no podr utilizarse para cargar una batera de tipo nquel- cadmio/nquel-hidrgeno. Fije firmemente la batera. Cargue la batera sobre una superficie plana exenta de vibraciones.

Temperatura de carga La gama de temperaturas para carga es de 0 a 40C. Sin embargo, para obtener la mxima eficacia de la batera, la gama de temperaturas recomendada para la carga es de 10 a 30C.

Para cargar la batera Consulte la ilustracin B.

1 Ponga el selector de modo en CHARGE.

2 Conecte el cable de alimentacin a esta unidad.

3 Conecte el cable de alimentacin a un tomacorriente de la red. Sonar un pitido y se encender el visualizador.

4 Instale la batera. Se iniciar la carga. Cuando el indicador de batera restante pase a ser

, y se encienda la lmpara CHARGE, habr finalizado la carga normal. Para realizar la carga completa, que le permitir utilizar la batera durante ms tiempo que con la carga normal, deje la batera instalada hasta que se apague la lmpara CHARGE. Extraiga la batera cuando lo requiera.

Para instalar la batera 1 Coloque la batera en esta unidad con la marca b orientada hacia

el obturador del terminal. 2 Deslice la batera en la direccin de la flecha.

Ejerza presin sobre la batera hasta que el obturador del terminal se introduzca por completo en esta unidad.

Nota Cuando instale la batera, tenga cuidado de no golpearla contra los terminales del adaptador de CA/cargador. Si instalase incorrectamente la batera, el adaptador de CA/cargador podra daarse.

Tiempo de carga En la tabla siguiente se muestra el tiempo de carga de una batera completamente descargada.

Minutos aproximados para cargar completamente una batera vaca (carga completa).

Los minutos aproximados entre parntesis indican el tiempo cuando la cargue normalmente (carga normal).

Para asegurar la duracin til de la batera, consulte el manual de instrucciones del equipo de vdeo utilizado.

El tiempo de carga puede diferir dependiendo de la condicin de la batera o de la temperatura ambiental.

Notas Si pone el selector de modo en VCR/CAMERA durante la carga, sta se parar. Si la lmpara CHARGE no se enciende o parpadea, compruebe si la

batera est correctamente instalada en el adaptador/cargador de CA. Si no est bien instalada, no se cargar.

Cuando parpadee la lmpara CHARGE Si ocurre algn problema durante la carga, la lmpara CHARGE parpadear y en el visualizador aparecer WARNING. Compruebe el organigrama siguiente.

En relacin con el producto averiado, pngase en contacto con su proveedor Sony.

Extraiga la batera de esta unidad y, a continuacin, vuelva a instalar la misma batera.

Si la lmpara CHARGE vuelve a parpadear: Instale otra batera.

Si la lmpara CHARGE se ilumina y no vuelve a parpadear: Si la lmpara CHARGE se apaga porque ha transcurrido el tiempo de carga, no hay problema.

Si la lmpara CHARGE vuelve a parpadear: El problema reside en esta unidad.

Si la lmpara CHARGE se ilumina y no vuelve a parpadear: Si la lmpara CHARGE se apaga porque ha transcurrido el tiempo de carga, el problema reside en la batera instalada en primer lugar.

Para extraer la batera Deslcela en el sentido de la flecha y despus levntela directamente hacia arriba.

Para comprobar la carga Durante la cargue, podr comprobar el tiempo de carga en el visualizador. Un minuto despus de haber iniciado la carga, en el visualizador aparecer BATTERY LIFE.

Presione DISPLAY CHANGE durante la carga. Cada vez que presione DISPLAY CHANGE, la visualizacin cambiar de la forma siguiente.

Notas La visualizacin del tiempo mostrar el tiempo aproximado cuando la carga

se realice a 10 - 30C. La visualizacin del tiempo puede diferir del tiempo de carga real dependiendo de las condiciones y circunstancias de utilizacin.

La visualizacin de tiempo puede mostrar en los casos siguientes. Sin embargo, esto no significa que la unidad est funcionando mal. El tiempo de batera restante es inferior a 5 minutos. Existe una diferencia entre el tiempo visualizado y el tiempo de carga

real. Aunque suceda esto, contine cargando. La carga completa requerir aproximadamente 1 hora despus de haber

finalizado la carga normal. Si extrae la batera entre la carga normal y la carga completa, es posible que el tiempo de carga no se visualice adecuadamente en la prxima carga.

Si el tiempo de carga no se visualiza adecuadamente, cargue completamente la batera. El tiempo de carga se visualizar apropiadamente.

Cuando instale una batera completamente cargada en esta unidad, en el visualizador puede aparecer TIME TO CHG FULL 1h. Sin embargo, esto no significa que la unidad est funcionando mal.

El tiempo restante de la batera puede no aparecer en funcin de las condiciones y circunstancias de uso de la videocmara y de la batera. Consulte Sobre el tiempo restante de la batera para obtener ms informacin.

Es posible que tenga que esperar cierto tiempo hasta que el visualizador muestre la indicacin de tiempo despus de haber presionado DISPLAY CHANGE.

Para visualizar el tiempo restante de una batera nueva, fjela a la videocmara y utilcela durante unos 20 segundos. A continuacin, cargue la batera con esta unidad.

Utilice el tomacorriente ms cercano por si se produce algn problema y necesita desenchufar la unidad. Si ocurre algn problema cuando est utilizando esta unidad, corte inmediatamente su alimentacin desenchufndola del tomacorriente. Utilice el cable conector suministrado. Con respecto a los detalles sobre la conexin, consulte el manual de instrucciones del equipo de vdeo.

Para utilizar el cable conector Manteniendo presionada la placa conectora B, deslcela hacia arriba.

Para extraer la placa conectora, deslcela hacia abajo manteniendo presionada la palanca de liberacin de la batera C.

Notas Si pone el selector de modo en CHARGE mientras est utilizando el

equipo de vdeo, la fuente de alimentacin de ste se cortar. Usted no podr cargar la batera instalada en esta unidad mientras est

alimentando el equipo de vdeo. Si las imgenes se ven con perturbaciones, mantenga esta unidad alejada

del equipo de vdeo.

1 Rglez le commutateur de mode sur CHARGE.

2 Branchez le cordon dalimentation sur lappareil

3 Branchez le cordon sur une prise murale. Un bip est audible et lafficheur sallume.

4 Installez la batterie rechargeable. La recharge commence. Quand lindicateur de capacit de la batterie est plein et le tmoin CHARGE sallume, la recharge normale est termine. Pour une recharge complte qui vous permettra dutiliser plus longtemps lappareil vido, laissez la batterie rechargeable en place jusqu ce que le tmoin CHARGE steigne. Enlevez la batterie rechargeable quand ncessaire. Elle peut tre utilise mme si elle nest pas compltement recharge.

Pour installer la batterie rechargeable 1 Placez la batterie sur cet appareil avec le repre b orient vers

lobturateur de borne. 2 Faites glisser la batterie dans le sens de la flche.

Appuyez sur la batterie jusqu ce que lobturateur de borne soit compltement introduit dans cet appareil.

Remarque Lorsque vous installez la batterie, veillez ne pas heurter la borne de ladaptateur secteur/chargeur. Elle pourrait tre endommage, si la batterie est mal installe.

Temps de recharge Le tableau suivant indique le temps de recharge quand la batterie est compltement dcharge.

Temps de recharge approximatif en minutes pour recharger compltement une batterie vide (Recharge complte).

Les minutes approximatives entre parenthses indiquent le temps normal (Recharge normale).

Voir le mode demploi de lappareil vido utilis pour lautonomie de la batterie.

Le temps de recharge varie selon ltat de la batterie et la temprature ambiante.

Remarques Si vous rglez le commutateur de mode sur VCR/CAMERA pendant la

recharge, la recharge sarrtera. Si le tmoin CHARGE ne sallume pas ou clignote, vrifiez que la batterie

rechargeable est fixe correctement ladaptateur secteur/chargeur. Si elle nest pas rattache correctement, elle ne se rechargera pas.

A propos de lindication du temps restant Pendant la recharge de la batterie rechargeable, cet appareil indiquera le temps restant pour un appareil vido, par exemple, dans les cas suivants: Vous utilisez une batterie rechargeable InfoLITHIUM Vous utilisez un appareil vido portant la marque Assurez-vous que la batterie rechargeable que vous utilisez porte la marque

. Consultez le mode demploi fourni avec votre appareil vido sil sagit dun appareil InfoLITHIUM.

Si vous utilisez un appareil vido portant la marque , le temps restant indiqu sur la batterie en cours de recharge correspond au temps restant pour le dernier appareil vido portant la marque auquel la batterie a t rattache.

Recharge Nutilisez que la batterie rechargeable InfoLITHIUM (srie S) de batteries au lithium-ion. Cet appareil ne peut pas tre utilis pour charger une batterie au Ni-Cd/Nickel-hydrogne. Fixez bien la batterie. Chargez la batterie sur une surface plane et sans vibrations.

Temprature de recharge La batterie peut tre recharge une temprature comprise entre 0C et 40C (32F et 104F). Cependant, pour que son efficacit soit optimale, il est conseill de la recharger entre 10C et 30C (50F et 86F).

Divers La plaque signaltique indiquant la tension de fonctionnement, la

consommation lectrique et dautres informations lectriques se trouve sous lappareil.

Une quantit ngligeable dlectricit circule dans ladaptateur secteur/ chargeur sil reste branch sur la prise murale.

Dbranchez lappareil de la prise murale si vous navez pas lintention de lutiliser pendant un certain temps. Pour dbrancher le cordon secteur, tirez sur la fiche. Ne tirez jamais sur le cordon.

Nutilisez pas lappareil lorsque le cordon est endommag, ou si ladaptateur est tomb ou a t endommag.

Evitez que des objets mtalliques ne touchent les parties mtalliques de lappareil ou de la plaque de connexion. Un court-circuit pourrait se produire et endommager lappareil.

Veillez ce que les contacts soient toujours propres. Ne pas dmonter ni modifier lappareil. Ne pas appliquer de chocs mcaniques lappareil ni le laisser tomber. Quand lappareil est utilis, il devient chaud. Cest tout fait normal. Ne pas laisser lappareil prs dun rcepteur AM, car il perturbera la

rception AM. Ne pas entreposer lappareil dans les endroits suivants:

extrmement chauds ou froids poussireux ou sales trs humides exposs des vibrations.

En cas de problme, dbranchez lappareil et contactez votre revendeur Sony.

Si le tmoin CHARGE clignote En cas de problme pendant la recharge, le tmoin CHARGE clignote et WARNING apparat sur la fentre daffichage. Consultez le tableau suivant.

Veuillez contacter votre revendeur Sony et lui apporter lappareil qui ne fonctionne pas.

Retirez la batterie de lappareil, puis remettez-la en place.

Si le tmoin CHARGE clignote encore: Installez une autre batterie rechargeable.

Si le tmoin CHARGE sallume mais ne clignote pas de nouveau: Si le tmoin CHARGE steint parce que la recharge est termine, il ny a aucun problme.

Si le tmoin CHARGE clignote de nouveau: Le problme vient de lappareil.

Si le tmoin CHARGE sallume mais ne clignote pas de nouveau: Si le tmoin CHARGE steint parce que la recharge est termine, le problme vient de la premire batterie rechargeable installe.

Pour enlever la batterie rechargeable Poussez la batterie dans le sens le sens de la flche puis soulevez-la tout droit.

Pour vrifier le temps de recharge Pendant la recharge, vous pouvez vrifier le temps de charge sur la fentre daffichage. Une minute aprs la recharge, BATTERY LIFE sallume sur la fentre daffichage.

Appuyez sur DISPLAY CHANGE pendant la recharge. A chaque pression sur cette touche, la fentre daffichage change de la faon suivante.

Remarques La fentre daffichage indique un temps approximatif quand la batterie est

recharge entre 10C et 30C. Selon les conditions dutilisation et les circonstances, le temps peut tre diffrent du temps rel.

peut apparatre sur la fentre daffichage dans les cas suivants. Il ne sagit pas dun problme de fonctionnement. Le temps restant de la batterie est infrieur 5 minutes. Il y a une diffrence entre le temps affich et le temps de recharge rel.

Continuez la recharge, si cet indicateur apparat. Une recharge complte prend environ une heure. Si vous dtachez la

batterie entre la recharge normale et la recharge complte, le temps restant pour la recharge risque de ne pas tre indiqu correctement lors de la recharge suivante.

Si le temps de recharge nest pas indiqu correctement, rechargez compltement la batterie. Il sera alors indiqu correctement.

Quand vous raccordez une batterie compltement recharge cet appareil, TIME TO CHG FULL 1hpeut apparatre sur la fentre daffichage. Il ne sagit pas dun mauvais fonctionnement.

Il se peut que l'autonomie rsiduelle de la batterie ne soit pas affiche en dans certaines conditions dutilisation, selon ltat de votre camescope et de la batterie. Pour plus de dtails, voir A propos de lindication du temps restant.

Il faut attendre un certain temps aprs une pression sur DISPLAY CHANGE pour que le temps apparaisse.

Pour afficher le temps restant dune nouvelle batterie, installez-la sur votre camescope et sollicitez-la pendant environ 20 secondes. Chargez ensuite la batterie avec cet appareil.

Utilisez la prise murale (secteur) la plus proche au cas o un problme se produirait et o il faudrait dbrancher cet appareil. Utilisez le cble de connexion fourni. Pour les dtails au sujet du raccordement, reportez-vous au mode demploi de lappareil vido.

1 Rglez le commutateur de mode sur VCR/CAMERA.

2 Raccordez le cordon dalimentation cet appareil.

3 Raccordez le cordon dalimentation une prise murale.

4 Raccordez le cble de connexion A au connecteur DC OUT de cet appareil.

5 Raccordez la plaquette de connexion B lappareil vido.

Si vous utilisez le cble de connexion Faites glisser la plaquette de connexion B tout en appuyant dessus. Pour retirer la plaquette de connexion, faites-la glisser vers le bas tout en appuyant sur le levier de dgagement de la batterie C.

Remarques Si vous rglez le commutateur de mode sur CHARGE pendant

lutilisation de lappareil vido, lalimentation sera coupe. Vous ne pouvez pas recharger la batterie quand elle est sur lappareil

vido et lalimente. Eloignez ladaptateur secteuri/chargeur de lappareil vido sil perturbe

limage.
