The AC-VF50 AC adaptor/charger can be used as follows: to charge a lithium ion InfoLITHIUM (F series) type battery pack to supply power to the Sony video equipment that is compatible with a

lithium ion type battery pack

What is the InfoLITHIUM? The InfoLITHIUM is a lithium ion battery pack which can exchange data with compatible electronic equipment about its battery consumption. Sony recommends that you use the InfoLITHIUM battery pack with electronic equipment having the mark.

InfoLITHIUM is a trademark of Sony Corporation.

WARNING To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture.

To avoid electrical shock, do not open the cabinet. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.

AC power cord must be changed only at the qualified service shop.

Notes on Use AC power cord plug The AC-VF50 comes in two models, differentiated by the shape of the AC power cord plug.

The model for USA and Canada: One blade of the plug is wider than the other for the purpose of safety and will fit into the power outlet only one way. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, contact your dealer.

Warranty for Recorded Content Contents of the recording cannot be compensated if recording or playback is not made due to a malfunction of the battery pack, AC adaptor/charger, etc.

Charging Use only a InfoLITHIUM ( F series ) lithium ion type battery pack. This

unit cannot be used to charge a Ni-cd type battery pack. Attach the battery pack firmly. Charge the battery pack on a flat surface without vibration. Remove the supplied connecting cord (DK-225) from this unit. If not

removed, charging is not possible.

Charging temperature The temperature range for charging is 0C to 40C (32F to 104F). However, to provide maximum battery efficiency, the recommended temperature range when charging is 10C to 30C (50F to 86F).

Others The nameplate indicating operating voltage, power consumption, etc. is

located on the bottom. The negligible amount of electric current will flow into the AC adaptor/

charger as long as the AC adaptor/charger is plugged into the wall outlet. Unplug the unit from the wall outlet if it will not be used for extended

period of time. To disconnect the cord, pull it out by the plug. Never pull the cord itself.

Do not operate the unit with a damaged cord or if it has been dropped or damaged.

Place the AC adaptor/charger near the wall outlet while in use. Should any problem occur, disconnect the AC adaptor/charger from the wall outlet as soon as possible to cut off the power.

Be sure that nothing metallic comes into contact with the metal parts of the unit or connecting plate. If it does, a short may occur and the unit may be damaged.

Always keep the metal contacts clean. Do not install the battery pack at an angle during use. Incorrect

installation of the battery pack can damage the AC adaptor/chargers connector.

Do not disassemble or convert the unit. Do not apply mechanical shock or drop the unit. While the unit is in use, it gets warm. But this is normal. Keep the unit away from AM receivers, because it will disturb AM

reception. Do not place the unit in a location where it is:

Extremely hot or cold Dusty or dirty Very humid Vibrating

Do not use the supplied connecting cord DK-225 with any other AC adaptor/charger but this unit or car battery charger. The DK-225 operates normally only when used with this unit.

If any difficulty should arise, unplug the unit and contact your nearest Sony dealer.

Recharge Utilisez uniquement une batterie au lithium-ion InfoLITHIUM (sries

F). Cet appareil ne peut pas tre utilis pour recharger une batterie au nickel-cadmium.

Fixez bien la batterie. Chargez la batterie sur une surface plane et sans vibrations. Dbranchez le cordon de raccordement fourni (DK-225) de ladaptateur/

chargeur, sinon la recharge ne sera pas possible.

Temprature de recharge La batterie peut tre recharge une temprature comprise entre 0C et 40C (32F et 104F). Cependant, pour que son efficacit soit optimale, il est conseill de la recharger entre 10C et 30C (50F et 86F).

Divers La plaque signaltique indiquant la tension de fonctionnement, la

Placez ladaptateur secteur/le chargeur proximit dune prise murale. En cas de problme, dbranchez ladaptateur secteur/le chargeur de la prise murale aussi rapidement que possible pour couper lalimentation.

Evitez que des objets mtalliques ne touchent les parties mtalliques de lappareil ou de la plaque de connexion. Un court-circuit pourrait se produire et endommager lappareil.

Veillez ce que les contacts soient toujours propres. Ninstallez pas la batterie rechargeable de biais quand vous lutilisez.

Une mauvaise installation de la batterie rechargeable peut endommager le connecteur de ladaptateur/chargeur secteur.

Ne dmontez pas et ne modifiez pas lappareil. Nappliquez pas de chocs mcaniques lappareil ni le laisser tomber. Quand lappareil est utilis, il devient chaud. Ceci est tout fait normal. Ne laissez pas ladaptateur prs dun rcepteur AM, car il perturbera la

rception AM. Nentreposez pas ladaptateur dans les endroits suivants:

extrmement chauds ou froids poussireux ou sales trs humides exposs des vibrations.

Nutilisez pas le cordon de liaison fourni DK-225 avec un autre type dadaptateur/chargeur ou de chargeur de batterie auto. Le DK-225 ne fonctionne normalement que lorsquil est utilis avec cet adaptateur.

En cas de problme, dbranchez ladaptateur secteur et contactez votre revendeur Sony.

Carga Utilice slo una batera de tipo iones de litio InfoLITHIUM (serie F).

No utilice la unidad con un cable daado, cuando se haya cado, ni cuando est daada.

Coloque el adaptador/cargador de CA cerca de la toma de corriente mientras est en uso. Si sucediera algn contratiempo, desconctelo de la toma lo ms rpidamente posible para cortar el suministro elctrico.

To Charge the Battery Pack Charging by Attaching the Battery Pack to This unit

See illustration A.

1 Install the battery pack. To attach the battery pack, press the battery pack down until it clicks.

2 Connect the power cord to the AC adator/charger and then connect to a wall outlet. The CHARGE lamp (orange) will light up and charging will begin.

When the CHARGE lamp goes out, normal charge is completed (Normal charge). For a full charge, which allows you to use the battery longer than usual, leave the battery pack in place for approximately one hour (Full charge). Remove the battery pack when required. It can be used even if charging is not completed.

To remove the battery pack Slide the v (release) button to the forward.

Charging time The following table shows the charging time for a battery pack which is discharged completely.

Approximate minutes to charge an empty battery pack fully (Full charge). Numbers in parentheses indicate the time required to charge normally

(Normal charge). To ascertain the battery life, refer to the instruction manual of the video

equipment which you use. The charging time may differ depending on the condition of the battery

pack or the temperature of the environment.

Notes To remove the battery pack, place the unit on a stable surface to avoid

dropping it, and slide the v (release) button. When a fully charged battery pack is installed, the CHARGE lamp will

once light, then go out. If the CHARGE lamp does not light or flash, check that the battery pack is

correctly attached to the AC adaptor/charger. If it is not attached it will not be charged.

When you charge, disconnect the connecting cord DK-225.

When the CHARGE lamp flashes Check through the following chart.

Note When charging of the battery pack attached to this unit is completed, or when you connect the power cord, the VCR/CAMERA lamp on this unit may light for a moment. This is not a problem.

To Operate Video Equipment See illustration B.

1 Connect the power cord to the AC adaptor/charger. 2 Connect the power cord to a wall outlet. 3 Connect the supplied DK-225 connecting cord to the video

equipment. For details about the connecting cord, refer to your video equipment Operation Instructions.

4 Connect the supplied DK-225 connecting cord to the DC OUT connector of the AC adaptor/charger. The VCR/CAMERA lamp (green) will light up.

Note Keep this unit away from the video equipment if the picture is disturbed.

Pour charger une batterie Recharge avec la batterie sur ladaptateur

Quand le tmoin CHARGE steint, la recharge normale est termine (Recharge normale). Pour une recharge complte, qui vous permettra dutiliser la batterie plus longtemps, laissez la batterie rechargeable en place pendant environ une heure (Recharge complte). Enlevez la batterie rechargeable lorsque ceci savre ncessaire. Elle peut tre utilise mme si elle nest pas compltement recharge.

Pour enlever la batterie rechargeable Faites glisser la touche v (ouverture) vers lavant.

Temps de recharge Le tableau suivant indique le temps de recharge lorsque la batterie est compltement dcharge.

Remarques Pour retirer la batterie, placez lappareil sur une surface stable pour viter

toute chute et faites glisser la touche v (ouverture) vers lavant. Lorsque vous insrez une batterie pleine dans ladaptateur/chargeur, le

tmoin CHARGE sallume puis steint. Si le tmoin CHARGE ne sallume pas ou ne clignote pas, vrifiez que la

batterie est correctement fixe au chargeur/adaptateur secteur. Si elle nest pas installe correctement, elle ne sera pas recharge.

Lors de la mise en charge, dconnectez le cordon de raccordement DK- 225.

Si le tmoin CHARGE clignote Consultez le tableau suivant.

Remarque Lorsque la recharge de la batterie installe sur ladaptateur/chargeur est termine, ou lorsque vous raccordez le cordon secteur, le tmoin VCR/ CAMERA de ladaptateur/chargeur peut clignoter un instant. Cela nindique aucunement un dysfonctionnement.

Pour utiliser lappareil vido Voir lillustration B.

1 Raccordez le cordon dalimentation ladaptateur secteur/ chargeur.

2 Branchez le cordon dalimentation une prise murale. 3 Raccordez le cordon de raccordement DK-225 fourni

lquipement vido. Pour plus de dtails sur le cordon dalimentation, reportez-vous au mode demploi de votre quipement vido.

4 Raccordez le cordon de raccordement DK-225 fourni au connecteur DC OUT de ladaptateur secteur/chargeur. Le tmoin VCR/CAMERA (vert) sallume.

Remarque Eloignez ladaptateur/chargeur de lappareil vido sil perturbe limage.

Please contact your nearest Sony dealer in connection with the product with the problem.

Remove the battery pack from this unit, then install the same battery pack again.

If the CHARGE lamp flashes again: Install another battery pack.

If the CHARGE lamp lights and does not flash again: Charging time is complete and there is no problem.

If the CHARGE lamp flashes again: The problem is with this unit.

If the CHARGE lamp lights and does not flash again: There was a problem with the previously installed battery.

Veuillez contacter votre revendeur Sony et lui apporter lappareil qui ne fonctionne pas.

Retirez la batterie de ladaptateur secteur, puis remettez-la en place.

Si le tmoin CHARGE clignote encore : Installez une autre batterie rechargeable.

Si le tmoin CHARGE sallume mais ne clignote pas de nouveau : Le chargement est termin et il ny a aucun problme.

Si le tmoin CHARGE clignote de nouveau : Le problme vient de ladaptateur secteur.

Si le tmoin CHARGE sallume mais ne clignote pas de nouveau : Un problme est survenu avec la batterie installe prcdemment.

Para cargar la batera Carga fijando la batera a esta unidad

Consulte la ilustracin A. 1 Instale la batera.

Para insertar la batera, presione hacia abajo hasta que haga clic. 2 Conecte el cable de alimentacin al adaptador/cargador de CA

y, a continuacin, conctelo a una toma de corriente. El indicador CHARGE (anaranjado) se iluminar y se iniciar la carga.

Cuando finalice la carga, la lmpara CHARGE se apagar (carga normal). Notas Para retirar la batera, coloque la unidad sobre una superficie estable para

evitar las cadas y deslice el botn v (soltar) hacia adelante. Cuando instale una batera completamente cargada, la lmpara CHARGE

parpadear una vez y despus se apagar. Si la lmpara CHARGE no se enciende ni parpadea, compruebe si la

batera est correctamente fijada en el adaptador de alimentacin de CA/ cargador. Si no lo est, no se cargar.

Durante la carga, desconecte el cable de conexin DK-225.

Cuando parpadee la lmpara CHARGE Compruebe el diagrama siguiente.

Nota Cuando finalice la carga de la batera fijada a esta unidad, o cuando haya conectado el cable de alimentacin, la lmpara VCR/CAMERA de esta unidad puede encenderse durante un momento. Esto no significa ningn problema.

1 Conecte el cable al adaptador/cargador de CA. 2 Conecte el cable de alimentacin a la toma de corriente. 3 Conecte el cable de conexin DK-225 (incluido) al equipo de

4 Conecte el cable de conexin DK-225 al conector DC OUT del adaptador/cargador de CA. El indicador VCR/CAMERA (verde) se iluminar.

Nota Si las imgenes se ven con perturbaciones, mantenga esta unidad alejada del equipo de vdeo.

Pngase en contacto con su proveedor Sony ms cercano en relacin con el producto afectado.

Retire la batera de esta unidad y, a continuacin, vuelva a instalar la misma batera.

Si la lmpara CHARGE vuelve a parpadear: Instale otra batera.

Si la lmpara CHARGE se ilumina y no vuelve a parpadear: El tiempo de carga se ha completado sin incidentes.

Si la lmpara CHARGE vuelve a parpadear: El problema reside en este cargador.

Si la lmpara CHARGE se ilumina y no vuelve a parpadear: Ha surgido un problema con la batera instalada anteriormente.
