EN Sandwich Maker User's manual

Prior to using this appliance, please read the users  manual thoroughly, even in cases, when one has already familiarised themselves with previous use of similar types of appliances. Only use the appliance in the manner described in this users manual. Keep this users  manual in a  safe place where it can be easily retrieved for future use.

We recommend saving the original cardboard box, packaging material, purchase receipt and responsibility statement of the vendor or warranty card for at least the duration of the legal liability for unsatisfactory performance or quality. In the event of transportation, we recommend that you pack the appliance in the original box from the manufacturer.

DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE A1 Baking plate heating indicator A2 Power indicator signals that the appliance is connected to a power socket. A3 Thermally insulated handles A4 Latch for locking and releasing the handle A5 Space for winding up the power cord (not shown) is located on the underside of the appliance. A6 Baking plates with a non-stick surface for making 2 square sandwiches. A7 Anti-slip feet (not shown) are located on the underside of the appliance.

BEFORE FIRST USE Take the appliance out of the packaging material and remove all promotional labels and stickers from it.

Wipe the baking plates A6 with a  lightly dampened cloth or sponge and then wipe it thoroughly dry.

Before first use, run the appliance empty for 5 to 7 minutes to remove any potential odours.

Note: Light smoke may be emitted when the appliance is started for the first time. This effect is caused by the inner components being heated up and it will disappear after a few moments.

OPERATING THE APPLIANCE Connect the sandwich maker to a power socket. Both indicators on the top panel will be lit. The red indicator A2 signals a connection to an electrical power source. The green indicator A1 indicates that the baking plates A6 are being heated.

Coat the baking plates A6 with a little butter or cooking oil, and close the sandwich maker to help the baking plates A6 heat up faster.

Prepare your sandwiches before the plates A6 heat up. For one sandwich you will need two slices of bread and the ingredients to go between them. Place the filling ingredients precisely between the sandwich bread slices. Putting in too many ingredients may prevent the sandwich maker from closing. In such a  case, it is necessary to remove some of the ingredients. Do not attempt to close the sandwich maker using force as this could damage it.

When the baking plates A6 are heated to the operating temperature, the green indicator A1 will turn off.

Note: The green indicator A1 turns on and off intermittently during operation. This signalises that the operating temperature is being maintained.

Open the sandwich maker using the handle A3 and place one or two sandwiches on to the bottom baking plate. Close the sandwich maker and use the latch A4 to secure the handles A3 to each other.

After 3 to 5 minutes, release the latch A4 and use the handle A3 to tilt open the top plate, and check the sandwich. If it is sufficiently toasted, take it out. Otherwise, extend the toasting time. Use a  wooden or another heat resistant spatula, etc. to remove the sandwich. Do not use a knife or fork or any other metal utensils. This could cause damage to the non-stick coating of the baking plates A6.

Note: The toasting time depends on the type of bread, the ingredients and your taste.

Before toasting more sandwiches, close the sandwich maker and wait until the green indicator A1 turns off.

After you finish using it, disconnect the power cord from the power socket. Allow the sandwich maker to cool down and clean it according to the instructions in chapter Cleaning and maintenance.

SANDWICH MAKING TIPS As base ingredients for the sandwich filling, you may use meat, fish, cheeses, smoked goods, boiled egg slices, mushrooms or fruit and vegetables such as bananas, apples, pineapples or tomatoes. Do not use excessive amount of filling, to prevent it from spilling on to the baking plates A6.

You may season the filling with spices, herbs, ketchup, etc. For the sandwiches to get a golden brown colour, you may spread a light layer or butter on the top side of the sandwich bread slice.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Prior to cleaning the sandwich maker, disconnect it from the power socket and allow it to cool down.

If some burnt food residue is left on the baking plates A6, sprinkle with water and mild kitchen detergent. After applying the kitchen detergent, wipe the grill plates A6 with a  clean damp cloth. Then wipe everything so that it is thoroughly dry.
