1. SafeTy WarninG! disconnect the spray gun from the air supply before changing accessories, servicing or performing any maintenance. 9 Familiariseyourselfwiththisproductsapplicationandlimitations,aswellasthespecificpotentialhazardspeculiartothespraygun.

6. air Supply 6.1. Recommendedhook-upfig.2 6.1.1. Ensurespraygunairvalve(ortrigger)isintheoffpositionbeforeconnectingtotheairsupply. 6.1.2. Youwillrequireanairpressureof1.5to2bar(21-30psi),andanairflowaccordingtospecification.

WarninG!Ensuretheairsupplyiscleananddoesnotexceed2bar(30psi)whileoperatingthespraygun.Toohighanair pressureand/oruncleanairwillshortentheproductlifeduetoexcessivewear,andmaybedangerouscausingdamageand/or personalinjury.

6.1.3. Draintheairtankdaily.Waterintheairlinewillruinthepaintfinishanddamagethespraygun. 6.1.4. Cleanairinletfilterweekly. 6.1.5. Linepressureshouldbeincreasedtocompensateforunusuallylongairhoses(over8metres).Theminimumhosediametershould

be1/4I.D.andfittingsmusthavethesameinsidedimensions. 6.1.6. Keep hose away from heat, oil and sharp edges. Check hose for wear, and make certain that all connections are secure. 6.2. couplinGS Vibrationmaycausefailureifaquickchangecouplingisconnecteddirectlytothespraygun.Toovercomethis,connectaleader hose to the spray gun. A quick change coupling may then be used to connect the leader hose to the air line recoil hose (fig.2and3).

7. operaTion 7.1. For best results, the gun should be held perpendicular to the surface being sprayed and moved parallel to it. Start the stroke

beforesqueezingthetriggerandreleasethetriggerbeforefinishingthestroke.Thiswillenableaccuratecontrolofthe gun and material (fig.3B).

7.2. Sprayfromadistanceofabout3.9to5.9inches(100to150mm)dependingonthematerial andtheatomizingpressure.Thematerialdepositedshouldalwaysbeevenandwet.Each strokemustoverlaptheprecedingstroketoobtainauniformfinish.Toreduceover-spray andobtainmaximumefficiency,spraywiththelowestpossibleatomizingairpressure.

7.3. Controllingthefansprayandthefluid. a)Usetheneedle(paint)adjustmentknob(fig.4.2)toadjusttheamountofpaintflow. b)Theatomizingairflowiscontrolledbythecontrolknob(fig.4.1). c)Thevolumeofairinputiscontrolledbytheadjustmentknob(fig.4.3). d) As width of spray is increased more material must pass through the gun to obtain the same coverage on the increased area. e)Turntheairnozzle(fig.4.4)toachieveahorizontalorverticalfanspray.Lockthenozzle withretainingring(fig.4.5).Thespraypatternofthegunisvariablefromroundtoflatwithall patternsinbetween.Innormaloperation,thewingsonthenozzlearehorizontal(fig.5).This provides a vertical fan-shaped pattern which gives maximum, uniform and even coverage whenmovingthegunbackandforth,paralleltotheworksurface(fig.6).

8. cleaninG for opTimum performance iT iS very imporTanT To enSure The Spray Gun iS correcTly cleaned afTer each uSe. disconnect from the air supply before attempting any cleaning or maintenance. 8.1. cleaninG The Gun 8.1.1. Flush the gun through with clean solvent. 8.1.2. Useabristlebrushandsolventtowashoffaccumulatedpaint. 8.1.3. Cleantheairnozzleusingabrush.Blowcleanwithair.Handleallnozzlescarefullyanddo noT make any alterations in the gun. 8.1.4. Wipe the outside of the gun with a dampened solvent rag. 8.1.5. Ifthereisaneedtoprobetheholesinthenozzles,ensureatoolthatissofterthanbrassisutilised,undernocircumstancesusea

metaltool,astheslightestamountofdamagewilladverselyaffectthespraypattern. 8.1.6. Adjustthefluidneedlevalvesothatwhenthegunistriggered,airflowoccursbeforefluidflow.

9. mainTenance 9.1.1. Takecarewhenre-assembling.Screwpartshandtighttoavoidcross-threading.Ifapartcannoteasilybeturnedbyhand,check

that it is the correct part, or unscrew it, realign and retry. do noT use excessive force when re-assembling. 9.1.2. Whenchangingthenozzlesize,ensurethecompletenozzlesetisfitted.Thisconsistsofaircap,fluidnozzleandpaintneedle.

Insertthefluidnozzlebeforepaintneedle.

10. TroubleShooTinG Afaultysprayisusuallycausedbyimpropercleaningordriedmaterialaroundthefluidnozzletiporintheairnozzle.Ifcleaningis required,removethesepartsandsoaktheminsolvent.Thiswillsoftenthedriedmaterialwhichcanthenberemovedwithabrushoracloth. Thesepartsarecarefullymachinedandanydamagetothemwillcauseafaultyspray.Ifeithertheairnozzleorfluidnozzlearedamaged,they must be replaced before a perfect spray can be obtained.
