2. ATTACHING THE CABLE 2.1. Attach the spring ring end of the breakaway cable to the handbrake of the caravan or trailer, the ring can be separated slightly to aid attaching the trailer. See fig.1 for an example but check with your trailer manufacturer for the correct place to attach the cable. 2.2. Run the cable down the frame and through any cable guides. 2.3. The spring clip end attaches to the tow bar, many tow bars have aspecificattachmentpointforbreakawaycables(seefig.2). Ensure that the cable is fed through the hole, looped round and clipped back onto itself. IMPORTANT! This product is NOT designed to be directly clipped to the tow bar with the spring clip. 2.4. If your tow bar does not have a breakaway cable attachment point, loop the cable around the tow ball and secure by clipping back onto itself. NOTE! If your tow bar is the detachable type, please seek guidance from the tow bar manufacturer or supplier.
