9 Never add fuel to a machine with a running engine or when its hot. centre or a similar qualified specialist. 8 DO NOT use the machine with a damaged or excessively worn cutting device. 9 To reduce the risk of fire, keep the engine and exhaust free from debris, leaves or excessive lubricant. 9 Always make sure that all handles and guards are installed when operating the machine. 9 Never attempt to use an incomplete machine or a machine equipped with an unauthorized modification. 9 When transporting or storing the machine, always original packaging for device protection. 9 Always be aware of your environment and pay attention to possible dangers that cannot be heard due to the noise of the machine. 9 Keep people and animals away from the work area. Follow the instructions in this manual to lubricate and change the

accessories. 9 Turn off the tool after use, when you leave it unattended, when changing the accessories and before servicing.

9 Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease. 8 DO NOT allow anyone, especially children, to come within a radius of at least five metres around the work area when work is in

progress. 9 Immediately stop the tool in the event of a malfunction of the motor or the ON/OFF button or in case of unusual noise. 9 When not in use, the machine must be stored in a dry, locked place out of the reach of children. 9 Before using the product and after any shock, please check it for signs of wear or damage. 9 Always switch off the machine:

every time you leave the device unattended; before releasing an obstruction; before checking, cleaning or working on the product; after hitting a foreign object; every time the product starts to vibrate abnormally.

9 Inspect and regularly service the product. Repairs should be carried out only by an authorized service centre or a similar qualified specialist.

9 When not in use, store the product out of the reach of children. 9 Always carry the tool by the handle, never the drill. 8 DO NOT use the product on a slippery surface. 8 DO NOT use the product on steep, slippery slopes. 9 Be careful when using the machine in stormy weather. DO NOT use the machine during lightning, thunderstorms and bad weather

in general. 1.2. FUEL HANDLING

9 Allow the machine to cool before performing inspection, adjustments, maintenance, servicing and storage. 9 Be very careful when handling fuels. They are flammable and the vapours are explosive. 9 Use only an approved container. 9 Never remove the fuel cap or add fuel while the machine is on. Turn the unit off and allow the engine and exhaust components to

cool before refuelling. 9 Never refuel inside a room. 9 Never store the tool and the fuel containers indoors where there is a naked flame. 9 If fuel has spilled, DO NOT attempt to start the machine, but rather move it away from the spill before starting to use it. Clean any

spills. 9 Replace and tighten the fuel tank cap after refuelling. 9 Follow the instructions in this manual for both filling the tool with fuel and fuel management during maintenance and storage.

1.3. RESIDUAL RISKS 1.3.1. Even if you use this product in accordance with all safety requirements, the potential risks of injuries and damage remain. The

following hazards might happen within the structure and design of this product. There are adverse health consequences due to the emission of vibrations if the product is used over long periods of time or not managed properly and maintained in a suitable way. There are risks of injuries and property damage caused by the attachments or broken attachments or sudden impact of hidden objects when using the cutting function. Risk of damage to persons and property caused by flying objects. Prolonged use of this product exposes the operator to vibration and may contribute to the onset of so-called white finger disease. To reduce the risk, please wear gloves and keep your hands warm. If any of the symptoms of the white finger syndrome appear, consult a doctor immediately. Symptoms of the white finger include: numbness, loss of sensitivity, tickling, tingling, pain, loss of strength, colour changes or skin condition. These symptoms usually appear on fingers, hands or wrists. The risk is higher at low temperatures. Risk of hearing loss if the machine is used for long periods of time without hearing protection.

2. INTRODUCTION Drills holes up to 800mm deep and 200mm wide, ideal for seating trees, garden posts and fence supports into the ground. 52cc 2hp Petrol motor. 4. OPERATION 4.1. FILLING THE FUEL TANK

8 DO NOT attempt to refuel when the engine is hot. 8 DO NOT expose fuel to heat source or naked flames.

If fuel is spilt, immediately stop refuelling and DO NOT start the engine. Clean up the spill and fill the machine in another location. 8 DO NOT fill the fuel tank to the neck of the filler as there is a risk of overflow. 8 DO NOT refuel in a closed and unventilated area.

4.1.1. The fuel used for this tool is a mixture of unleaded petrol and registered engine lubricant. 4.1.2. When mixing petrol with oil, use only unleaded petrol that does not contain ethanol or methanol. 4.1.3. The recommended mixing ratio is 25:1 (make sure the mixing ratio is correct before filling the product). 4.2. MIXING 4.2.1. Prepare the mixture in a clean and empty container. 4.2.2. Pour the oil and petrol into the container. 4.2.3. Stir the mixture long enough (more than one minute) to get a proper blending. 4.3. FILLING THE FUEL TANK 4.3.1. Unscrew the fuel tank cap and remove it. 4.3.2. Fill the tank slowly with the mixture. DO NOT exceed the maximum capacity (fill to 80% of its capacity preferably). 4.3.3. Replace the cap on the fuel tank and tighten it. 4.3.4. Wipe off any spillage around the unit if necessary NOTE: To avoid damage and accidents, DO NOT use other mixtures and other types of oil / petrol 4.4. STORAGE OF FUEL

9 The fuel must be kept in a clean and safe container and always closed. 9 If you are not using the product for a long time, remove the fuel mixture and add it to a container. 8 DO NOT leave the fuel for a long time in the product. The fuel may clog the carburettor and the engine will not operate properly.

4.5. DISPOSAL OF FUEL 9 Dispose of any unwanted fuel in an authorized location. 9 Check local laws and regulations regarding disposal of fuels.

4.6. AUGER ASSEMBLY 4.6.1. Place the machine body on a flat and stable location. 4.6.2. Remove the clip and pin on the drill drive shaft. 4.6.3. Install the auger and align the holes to be able to connect the shaft and auger together. 4.6.4. Put the pin back in place and refit the clip through the hole in the pin. (fig.1). 4.7. BEFORE USE 4.7.1. Check the machine for damage or malfunction. In case of problems, DO NOT use the machine. 4.7.2. Check that the drill rod is properly and securely assembled. 4.7.3. Check the fuel volume. Always refuel before operating the machine. Never use the machine with little or no fuel. 4.7.4. Check the workspace; remove all obstacles, materials and objects that could pose danger and cause an accident. 4.7.5. Secure the workspace by placing markings to alert spectators of existing potential risk. 4.8. STARTING THE OPERATION 4.8.1. COLD STARTING 4.8.1.1. Switch on the tool by sliding the Stop/Start slider to the ON location. (fig.2) 4.8.1.2. Push the primer bulb 5-7 times, until fuel comes into the primer bulb. (fig.3) 4.8.1.3. Move the choke lever to the ON position (fig.4). 4.8.1.4. Pull the starter cord until the engine starts (fig.5). 4.8.1.5. Move the choke lever to the OFF position (fig.4). 4.8.1.6. Allow engine to warm up for a few minutes before using. 4.8.1.7. Depress the safety switch then squeeze the throttle trigger to start the operation (fig.2, fig.6). See Section 4.9 for instructions.

4.8.2. WARM STARTING 4.8.2.1. The warm starting can be done when the tool was switched off but still hot. 4.8.2.2. Switch on the tool by sliding the Stop/Start slider to the ON location. (fig.2) 4.8.2.3. Push the primer bulb 1-2 times, until fuel comes into the primer bulb (fig.3). 4.8.2.4. The choke lever (fig.4) must be kept in the OFF position. 4.8.2.5. Pull the starter cord until the engine starts (fig.5). 4.8.2.6. Allow engine to warm up for a few minutes before using. 4.8.2.7. Depress the safety switch then squeeze the throttle trigger to start the operation (fig.2, fig.6). See Section 4.9 for instructions. 4.9. IN USE 4.9.1. Hold the drill vertically. Place the rod against the ground. 4.9.2. Switch on the tool by sliding the Stop/Start slider to the ON location. (fig.2) 4.9.3. Pull the starter cord until the engine starts (fig.5). 4.9.4. Hold the drill by grasping the holding handle and main handle. 4.9.5. Gradually increase the speed by pressing and holding the safety switch and then pulling the acceleration trigger (fig.6). Exert some downward force. 4.9.6. When the drill rod has penetrated 10 cm into the ground, grasp the frame strongly and increase the effort downwards. 4.9.7. To drill a deep hole, lower the rod gradually. 4.9.8. When you have dug the required size, decrease the drilling speed. 4.9.9. Lift the auger out of the hole and stop the machine by releasing the trigger and sliding the Stop/Start slider up to the OFF position (fig.2). 4.9.10. Let the machine stop completely before placing it on the ground.

4.10. PRECAUTIONS DURING THE OPERATION 4.10.1. Spectators (especially children and animals) should remain at least 5 metres away from the workspace. Stop anyone from entering the

workspace during the operation. 4.10.2. When a person comes close, stop the machine to avoid possible injury. 4.10.3. Pay attention to your work and the environment where you work. Stop the operation immediately something unexpected happens. 4.10.4. Avoid working on slopes. If you absolutely have to work on a slope, pay double attention to avoid accidents and injuries. 4.10.5. Switch the machine off when you take a break, change the workplace and leave the machine unattended. 4.10.6. Never touch the drill rod while operating the machine. 4.10.7. During usage keep all parts of the body away from the auger. 4.10.8. Wait until the machine has stopped completely before placing it on the ground. 4.11. JAMMING AND BREAKDOWNS 4.11.1. When the drill gets stuck, release the accelerator to slow down the machine. 4.11.2. You have to release the accelerator and return to idle to enable auger withdrawal. 4.11.3. In case of failure, stop the machine completely. Check the machine and have it inspected and repaired by a qualified service

technician.

5. MAINTENANCE NOTE: Service your tool regularly. This shall keep your tool in good working condition and extend its service life.

8 DO NOT use abrasive and corrosive agents to clean the tool. These types of products damage your tool. 8 DO NOT repair it yourself. Repairs and inspections should be performed by a qualified person or an authorized service centre (please

contact your stockist). 5.1. AFTER EACH USE Check the rod and tool body for cleanliness, wear, damage, etc. If you notice damage, wear or malfunction, DO NOT use the tool and submit it to a qualified service for inspection and repair. 5.2. AIR FILTER Check the air filter after each use. Remove the filter cover (fig.4) by unscrewing the central screw and lift out the filter housing. Remove the filter from the housing and clean it using warm water and detergent. Dry thoroughly before replacing. Change the air filter after each season (or after 50 hours of use). 5.3. SPARK PLUG Check, clean and readjust, if necessary, the spark plug every 6 months. In case of replacement, contact the after-sales service. 5.4. GEAR OIL INJECTION PORT (FIG.7) After 30 hours of use, change the oil. Remove the valve with a spanner. Drain the oil inside. Add new special oil (gear oil, SAE 85W / 90, 150 ml maximum). Replace the valve. 5.5. STORAGE 5.5.1. Clean the machine

Store the machine in a dry and safe place. It should be out of the reach of children. Place the machine in its packaging to avoid contact with the drill rod. When storing for long periods of time, empty the fuel tank completely.
