Checking the Included Items The following items are packed with the KS-G8B.

As soon as you open the package, check to make sure that all of these included items are present. If anything is missing, contact your dealer.

Parts Descriptions

Before Assembling Be careful not to pinch your ngers when setting up the stand.

Do not adjust the height of the stand while the keyboard is resting on it.

Do not put your ngers into the pipes of the stand. Doing so may cause injury.

Firmly tighten screws before using the stand. In particular, check that everything is secure before a performance. If any parts are loose, your keyboard may fall down, causing injury.

Place your keyboard so that it is centered on the middle of the stand.

Use the included cable clip to secure any cables connected to your keyboard.

Do not move the stand with the keyboard resting on it. Doing so may cause the keyboard to overturn or fall.

Assembly Procedure First, lay the packing material on the oor and place the stand on it as shown in the following illustration.

* Place the rubber feet downward.

Adjusting the Height You can adjust the height of the KS-G8B in three levels: height 1 (645 mm), height 2 (730 mm), and height 3 (815 mm).

* When the stand is shipped, it is adjusted to height 1 (645 mm). If you dont need to change the height, proceed to Provisionally Assembling the Leg and Arm.

1. Use the drum key to remove the two height adjustment screws.

2. Adjust the support column by sliding it to the desired height.

3. Verify that the holes are aligned, and then use the drum key to securely fasten the two height adjustment screws that you removed.

HINT

While fastening the height adjustment screws, gently lift up the support column that you slid; this will let you tighten the screws smoothly.

Provisionally Assembling the Leg and Arm To prevent the screw holes from becoming misaligned, only tighten the screws nger-tight; dont tighten them completely.

1. Use the drum key to remove the support column fastening screw A.

2. Raise the support column, and hold it in place with your hand.

3. Insert the previously-removed column fastening screws A into their original location, and nger-tighten the screws to provisionally fasten the support column.

MEMO

If the support column is raised insu ciently or too high, you wont be able to tighten the screws smoothly.

Make ne adjustments to the angle of the support column to nd the point at which the screws can be tightened smoothly.

4. Use the drum key to remove the support column fastening screw B.

5. Use one hand to hold the tip of the arm, and rotate it so that the arm is horizontal.

6. Use the other hand to hold support column screw B, and insert it at a right angle to the support column. Finger-tighten the screw to provisionally fasten the arm.

MEMO If you are unable to smoothly tighten the screw, make ne adjustments to the angle of the arm to nd the point at which you can tighten the screw smoothly.

Adjusting the Support Bars 1. Use the drum key to remove the support bar fastening screws

located at the end of the left and right support bars.

NOTE

The support bar fastening screws will be used when assembling the support bars. Take care not to lose them.

2. If you will be using the stand at height 2 (730 mm), attach one Connecting bar to each side, left and right. If you will be using the stand at height 3 (815 mm), attach two Connecting bars to each side, left and right.

* If you have not adjusted the height in Adjusting the Height, proceed to Provisionally Assembling the Support Bars and Memory Locks.

Provisionally Assembling the Support Bars and Memory Locks 1. Use the drum key to loosen the

memory locks.

2. Raise each support bar.

3. While lightly pressing the arm upward, insert the support bar into the hole located at the end of the arm.

4. Finger-tighten the support bar fastening screw to provisionally fasten the support bar.

MEMO

If you are unable to smoothly tighten the screw, move the support column slightly forward or backward to nd the point at which the screw can be tightened smoothly.

5. Change the position of the memory lock as appropriate for the height of the support column.

Securely Tightening the Screws 1. Use the drum key to securely tighten the screws in the order

shown in the illustration below.

2. Gently rock the KS-G8B to see whether there is any instability. If there is any instability, turn the adjusters to stabilize the stand.

This completes assembly of the KS-G8B.

If you want to change the height of the stand

1. Loosen support column fastening screw A, support column fastening screw B, and the memory locks.

2. Remove the left and right support bar fastening screws.

3. While grasping the support bar, detach the support bars from the arm and fold them down as shown in the illustration below.

4. In order to change the height safely, lay down the stand as shown in the illustration.

5. Adjust the height of the support column as described in Adjusting the Height.

6. Using both hands to hold the support column, slowly raise the stand upright.

7. Adjust the length of the support bars as described in Adjusting the Support Bars.

8. Provisionally fasten the support bars and the memory locks as described in Provisionally Assembling the Support Bars and Memory Locks.

9. Firmly tighten the screws as described in Securely Tightening the Screws.

10. Gently rock the KS-G8B to see whether there is any instability.

Do not disassemble or modify by yourself Do not carry out anything unless you are instructed to do so in the owners manual. Otherwise, you risk causing malfunction.

Do not place in an unstable location Otherwise, you risk injury as the result of the stand toppling over or dropping down.

Be cautious to protect children from injury Always make sure that an adult is on hand to provide supervision and guidance when using the stand in places where children are present, or when a child will be using the stand.

Do not drop or subject to strong impact Otherwise, you risk causing damage or malfunction.

Use only stand manufactured by Roland This stand for use only with speci c Roland musical instruments. See apparatus instructions. Use with other models is capable of resulting in instability causing possible injury.

Evaluate safety issues before using stands Even if you observe the cautions given in the owners manual, certain types of handling may allow keyboard to fall from the stand, or cause the stand to overturn. Please be mindful of any safety issues before using this product.

Avoid climbing on top of the unit, or placing heavy objects on it Otherwise, you risk injury as the result of the unit toppling over or dropping down.

Keep small items out of the reach of children To prevent accidental ingestion of the parts listed below, always keep them out of the reach of small children.

IMPORTANT NOTES Placement

Depending on the material and temperature of the surface on which you place the stand, its rubber feet may discolor or mar the surface.

Maintenance

For everyday cleaning wipe the stand with a soft, dry cloth or one that has been slightly dampened with water. To remove stubborn dirt, use a cloth impregnated with a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Afterwards, be sure to wipe the stand thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth.

Never use benzine, thinners, alcohol or solvents of any kind, to avoid the possibility of discoloration and/or deformation.
