Preparing to Use AX-Edge Editor

Connect the AX-Edge with your mobile device via Bluetooth.

Turning on the AX-Edges Bluetooth Function

To connect the AX-Edge with your mobile device, turn on the AX- Edges Bluetooth function.

1. Press the [MENU/WRITE] button.

2. Use the cursor [K] [J] buttons to select SYSTEM, and then press the [ENTER] button.

3. Use the cursor [K] [J] buttons to select Bluetooth, and use the [-] [+] buttons to change the value to ON.

4. If you want to save the setting, execute the System Write operation. & Saving the System Settings (System Write) (AX-Edge OwnersManual: p. 20)

5. Press the [Exit] button several times to return to the top screen.

The Bluetooth symbol ( ) appears in the upper right of the top

screen.

Connecting with the Mobile Device

* When using on Android 6.0 or later, please turn Android Location mode on.

1. Locate the AX-Edge near the mobile device that you want to connect.

If you have more than one AX-Edge unit, power-on only the unit that you want to pair (turn off the power of the other AX-Edge units).

2. Turn on the Bluetooth function of your mobile device.

NOTE

Do not tap the AX-Edge indication that appears in the Bluetooth settings of your mobile device.

3. Start AX-Edge Editor.

4. Tap the SETUP icon.

5. Tap the [BT Devices] button.

6. Tap AX-Edge.

If the pairing confirmation screen appears, tap Pair.

When pairing is completed, the Connected indication appears.

Additionally, the Bluetooth symbol in the upper right of the AX-Edges top screen is highlighted ( 0 ).

7. Tap the [back] button to return to the previous screen.

8. For both INPUT and OUTPUT, choose AX-Edge (Bluetooth).

If youre using Android, this indicates AX-Edge.

The AX-Edge and AX-Edge Editor begin synchronizing. It might take several minutes for synchronization to be completed.

When the dialog window disappears, synchronization is completed.

If the unit and the AX-Edge do not synchronize successfully, check the following settings of the unit. If pairing becomes impossible, temporarily cancel (delete) the AX-Edge thats shown (registered) in the Bluetooth settings screen of your mobile device. Then try the above connection procedure again.

If the AX-Edge indicates Ver. Mismatch! or AX-Edge Editor indicates Version Mismatch, operation from AX-Edge Editor will no longer be possible. Update both the AX-Edge and AX-Edge Editor to the latest version.

About AX-Edge Editor

AX-Edge Editor has the following functions. To switch between functions, use the buttons at the top of the screen.

SYS EFX (system effect edit)

Here you can edit the system effects such as reverb and chorus.

LIBRARIAN Here you can copy, add, delete, organize, or rename programs or user tones. You can also import or export a list file for the AX- Edge.

EDITOR Here you can edit program or tone parameters.

SETUP Here you can specify the connection with the AX- Edge, and refer to the operating manual.

Using LIBRARIAN

[Preview] button Sends the selected program to the AX- Edge unit, letting you audition the sound on the AX-Edge. * If Mode is Tone, it is sent

to Part 1.

[Edit] button Opens the edit screen for the selected program. * This is not shown if

Mode is Tone.

AX-Edge List The AX-Edge list shows the programs or user tones of the AX-Edge thats connected. * This is not shown unless

you execute [Read].

[Mode] select The librarian lets you view and edit lists of programs or user tones. This switches between program lists and user tone lists.

List tab Up to four lists can be open simultaneously. The selected list has a red border.

The [Preview] or [Edit] operations applied to a single program. Tap the button of the program that you want to [Preview] or [Edit].

Editing the AX-Edge List

Immediately after you start the editor, the entire contents of the AX-Edge list is in the default state (the program list contains INIT PROGRAM and the user tone list contains INIT TONE).

Heres how to edit the list. You can edit the user tone list in the same way.

Reading the programs that you want to edit from the AX- Edge (Read)

1. Tap to select the program number that you want to edit.

You can select multiple items.

You can also select multiple programs by select one program and then long- pressing another program. The multiple selection is cleared when you switch lists.

2. Tap the Read button.

3. When the confirmation message appears, execute.

The selected programs are read.

NOTE

If you selected numerous programs, it might take some time for them to be read.

If you imported tones from an SVZ/SDZ file after reading, tap the [Read] button once again to update the list.

4. Edit the list.

Editing a List (Organize)

In LIBRARIAN, tap the [Organize] button to enter list editing mode.

[Init] button (Initialize) Initializes all parameters of the selected item.

[Insert] button Inserts the copied item above the selected item.

[Paste] button Overwrites the copied item onto the selected item.

[Done] button Returns from list edit mode to the previous LIBRARIAN screen.

Opening Editor

Selecting a program in the app and editing it

1. In the librarian screen, tap the program that you want to edit.

2. Tap Edit at the right of the program name.

The edit screen of the selected program appears.

The edit screen opens.

The first time the app is started, the edit screen will open for the program that is currently selected on the unit.

2. Tap the [Read] button.

Editing Values

When you tap a value, a controller (*1) appears. Continue swiping left or right to edit the value. By tapping the [][+] buttons you can edit the value in detail.

Program Edit

(Program name) Tap the program name to open the name edit screen.

[Read] button Reads the program thats currently selected on the AX-Edge unit into the Editor.

[Write] button Saves the program to the AX-Edge unit. Tap the [Write] button to access a screen where you can select the save- destination.

* The save-destination program is overwritten.

Major category buttons Switch the major category. For details, refer to the parameter guide.

Select [Part14] buttons A program consists of four parts. These buttons switch the part that youre editing.

Intermediate category buttons Switch the intermediate category. Press < or > to switch intermediate category pages. For details, refer to the parameter guide.

[EDIT] button Opens the edit screen for the currently selected tone. & to Tone Edit

[LIST] button Opens the tone list. You can select a different tone in the opened tone list.

Copying Part Settings

You can copy the settings of a part to another part.

Access the [SOUND] 0 [PART] parameters, and swipe to the bot- tom of the parameters.

[Copy this part to ...] button Copies the settings of the currently selected part to another part of the same program.

[Copy part from...] button Copies the part settings of another program in the AX-Edge list to the currently selected part.

To copy settings of the VOCODER part, use the part copy button at the bottom of the parameters in [VOCODER] 0 [CRR PART].

Tone Edit

Category buttons Switch the category. Press < or > to switch category pages. For details on the parameters, refer to the parameter guide.
