NOTE! During storage and transportation, especially at high ambient temperature, the oil and grease used for assembling may run out inside the packing and damage the expanded polystyrene packing material. This is not unusual and is in no way detrimental to the suspension components.

WARNING! 1. Its advisable to have an hlins dealer or other qualified person to fit your shock absorber. 2. Instructions in the vehicle service manual are to be followed when changing the shock ab- sorber. 3. When working on a lifted vehicle it must be securely supported to prevent it from falling.
Mounting instructions
1 Lift the car so the wheels are free off the ground and put it on stands. Make sure it is steadily po- sitioned and will not fall down.
2 Remove the wheel and support the brake disc, so the suspension will not fall down, when the shock absorber is removed.
3 Disconnect the anti-roll bar link from the shock absorber bracket.
4 Remove the shock absorber together with the top mount according to your cars work shop manual.
5 Unscrew the adjustment nut for the spring, so that the spring has no preload.
6 Remove the top mount together with the bear- ing from the original shock absorber.

7 Mount the the top mount to the hlins shock ab- sorber between pos 2 and 3 on 3702/4702 and pos 4 and 5 on 3703/4703 in the spare parts list. Part no. POF 3702/3703 is the left shock absorber, and POF 4702/4703 the right. It might be neces- sary to unscrew the adjustment nut for the spring, so that the spring will not be preloaded during this operation. The retaining nut should be torqued to 30 Nm. Be sure that all parts are seated correctly on each other.
8 Put the hlins shock absorber in place, with the gas reservoir hose running over the rear leg of the lower A-arm. Mount the top mount to the chassis first, and then attach the lower bolt.
