AROUND VIEW MONITOR (if so equipped) With the ignition switch in the ON position, the

Around View Monitor is activated by pressing the CAMERA button 01 , located on the navigation unit, or by moving the vehicle to the R (REVERSE) position. The monitor displays various views of the position of the vehicle.

When the vehicle is in the P (PARK), N (NEUTRAL) or D (DRIVE) position and the CAMERA button 01 is pressed, the following views will display in order:

NEW SYSTEM FEATURES

APPROACHING VEHICLE SOUND FOR PEDESTRIANS (VSP) SYSTEM The VSP system helps alert pedestrians to the presence of the vehicle when it is being

driven at a low speed.

When the vehicle starts to move, it produces a sound. The sound stops when the vehicle speed reaches approximately 19 MPH (30 km/h) while accelerating.

For more information, refer to the EV overview (section EV) of your Owners Manual.

CARWINGS/REMOTE FUNCTIONS* (if so equipped) Vehicle telematic capabilities enable you to perform remote functions from a compatible internet-enabled smart phone or personal computer such as:

Battery status The status of the battery can be checked even if you are not in the vehicle.

Unplugged status and charging status A notification e-mail and/or text message can be sent if the charge connector is not connected or if battery charging is stopped mid-charge.

Remote charge and remote climate control Start battery charging or set a time to turn on your climate controls.

Li-ion battery warmer status - When the ambient temperature is low, the Li-ion battery warmer operates automatically and an e-mail notification will be sent to remind you of connecting your vehicle to a charging station.

POIs powered by Google - Allows you to search from locations near your vehicles current location, near a plotted destination, near the maps scroll position or near a searched city center.

*Remote functions are only available when the following conditions are met: Optional CARWINGS (if so equipped) subscription service has been established. Your vehicle and smart phone are in a compatible cellular phone coverage area and your personal computer is connected

to the internet.

The colored guide lines on the display screen indicate vehicle width and approximate distances to objects with reference to the vehicle body line.

Red 1.5 ft (0.5 m); Yellow 3 ft (1 m); Green 7 ft (2 m) and 10 ft (3 m).

For information regarding how to access additional viewing cycles, please see your Navigation System Owners Manual.

There are some areas where the system will not show objects.

When in the front or the rear view display, an object below the bumper or on the ground may not be viewed 02 .

When in the birds-eye view, a tall object near the seam of the camera detecting areas 03 will not appear in the monitor.

The distance between objects viewed on the Around View Monitor differs from the actual distance.

Objects in the birds-eye view will appear farther than the actual distance.

NEW SYSTEM FEATURES SHIFT CONTROL SYSTEM This vehicle is equipped with an electric shift control system, providing smooth and easy shift lever operation.

There are five shift positions for operating the vehicle: P (PARK), R (REVERSE), N (NEUTRAL), D (DRIVE) and B-Mode.

P (PARK) Activated by pressing the P (PARK) button on the shift lever when the car has come to a complete stop.

D (DRIVE) For normal driving. Activated by moving the shift lever left and down. The shift lever will then return to the center position.

B-Mode Engages the regenerative braking system more aggressively when decelerating, helping to put energy back into the battery pack. To enter B-MODE the vehicle must be in D (DRIVE) and then move the shift lever to the D (DRIVE) position again. The shift lever will then return to the center position.

ECO Consumes less power and helps extend vehicle range.

While in either D (DRIVE) or B-MODE, ECO can be activated by pressing the ECO button on the right side of the steering wheel.

While in ECO, there will be a reduced acceleration response.

HEATED SEATS The front seats and the rear outboard seats can be

warmed by built-in heaters.

The switches, located on the center console 01 (front seats) and on the side of the front passenger seatback 02 (rear seats), can be operated independently of each other.

The heater is controlled by a thermostat, automatically turning the heater on and off. The indicator light will remain on as long as the switch is on.

QUICK CHARGE IN COLD WEATHER (if so equipped) It may take more time to charge the Li-ion battery using the quick charger if the vehicle is

parked in a cold location (for example 32F (0C)) for a long period of time.

The Li-ion battery temperature gauge can be used to estimate the approximate time needed to charge the Li-ion battery to 80%.

PARKING IN EXTREMELY COLD WEATHER Do not store the vehicle in temperatures below -13F (-25C) for over seven days. If the

outside temperature is -13F (-25C) or lower, the Li-ion battery may freeze and it cannot be charged or provide power to run the vehicle.

The Li-ion battery heater does not operate if the available Li-ion battery charge is less than approximately 30% and the charger is not connected to the vehicle. To help prevent the Li-ion battery from freezing, do not leave the vehicle in an environment where temperatures may go below -1F (-17C) unless the vehicle is connected to a charger.

COLD WEATHER RANGE Vehicle range may be reduced when the temperature drops below -4F (-20C).

Using the climate control system to heat the cabin when the outside temperature is below 32F (0C) uses more electricity and affects vehicle range more than using the heater at temperatures above 32F (0C).

LI-ION BATTERY TEMPERATURE GAUGE The temperature of the Li-ion battery is in the normal

range 01 when the display is within this zone.

The temperature of the Li-ion battery varies with outside air temperature, road surface temperature, driving conditions and charging rate.

To protect the battery, power is reduced when the temperature of the battery is too high or low. This does not indicate a malfunction.

LI-ION BATTERY GAUGES The Li-ion Battery Available Charge Gauge 01

displays the approximate available Li-ion battery power remaining to drive the vehicle. Recharge the Li-ion battery before these lights reach the bottom line.

The Li-ion Battery Capacity Level Gauge 02 indicates the amount of charge the Li-ion battery is capable of storing.

The driving range 03 provides an estimated distance that the vehicle can be driven before recharging is necessary. The driving range is constantly being calculated, based on the amount of available Li-ion battery charge and the actual power consumption average.

POWER LIMITATION INDICATOR LIGHT When the power limitation indicator light illuminates,

power provided to the traction motor is reduced.

This light illuminates in the following conditions: The Li-ion battery available charge is extremely low. The Li-ion battery temperature is very low. The temperature of the Electric Vehicle (EV) system is high (motor, inverter, coolant

system, Li-ion battery, etc.). The EV system has a malfunction.

If the power limitation indicator light is illuminated, follow the instructions provided on the navigation display.

CHARGE PORT LID/CHARGE CONNECTOR LOCK SWITCH To open the charge port lid, do the following:

Push the charge port lid opener switch 01 on the instrument panel, or

Press and hold the charge port lid opener button 02 on the Intelligent Key for more than

2 seconds.

When the charge port lid springs up slightly, place your hand underneath the lid and open fully.

To close the charge port lid, slowly move the lid down and lock it securely in place.

The normal or trickle charge connector can be locked to the normal charge port with the use of the charge connector lock switch 03 .

There are 3 different positions of the charge connector lock switch 03 :

AUTO The charge connector is locked while charging is in progress and unlocked automatically when charging is complete.

LOCK The charge connector will remain locked until unlock is selected.

(Unlock) When the switch is placed in the level position, the charge port will unlock and remain unlocked.

TEMPORARY UNLOCK MODE

When the charge connector lock switch is in the AUTO or LOCK position, the charge connector lock can be unlocked temporarily with the use of the Intelligent Key or the charge port lid opener switch 01 .

Push the charge port lid opener button 02 on the Intelligent Key for more than 1 second or push the charge port lid opener switch 01 .

The status indicator light flashes 3 times.

A beep sounds 3 times.

The charge connector lock is unlocked for 30 seconds.

After 30 seconds the charge connector lock is locked.

LI-ION BATTERY CHARGING Before charging the Li-ion battery, see your Owners Manual for detailed warnings and cautions when charging your battery.

There are three methods available to perform the charge operation: normal charge, trickle charge and quick charge (if so equipped).

NORMAL CHARGE

Perform a normal charge using the charger installed in your home.

It takes approximately 3-4 hours to charge the Li-ion battery from empty to full with a 6.6 kW charger (if so equipped).

To charge your vehicle:

Place the power switch in the OFF position.

Push the charge port lid opener switch located below the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel.

Press the charge port tab and open the cap.

Connect the charge connector 01 to the charge port 02 . When connected correctly, a beep will sound once.

To stop charging:

Press the button 03 on the charge connector to release the lock and remove the charge connector from the charge port.

Close the charge port cap and the charge port lid.

TRICKLE CHARGE Perform a trickle charge by connecting the Electric

Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) (if so equipped) to a dedicated 110-120 volt, 15A power outlet.

It takes approximately 21 hours to charge the Li-ion battery from discharged to charged.

To charge your vehicle:

Place the power switch in the OFF position.

Push the charge port lid opener switch located below the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel.

Press the charge port tab and open the cap.

Connect the EVSE plug 04 to a dedicated 110-120 volt, 15A power outlet. The EVSE control boxs green indicator light 05 will illuminate.

Remove the safety cap from the charge connector.

Connect the charge connector 06 to the charge port 02 . A beep will sound once.

If plugging in the EVSE connector to a power outlet, attach a string to the control box 07 and hang on a hook near the outlet, or set on a suitable surface off the ground.

To stop charging:

Press the button 08 on the charge connector to release the lock and remove the charge connector from the charge port.

Close the charge port cap and the charge port lid.

Remove the EVSE plug from the power outlet, attach the safety cap to the charge connector and store in the case.

QUICK CHARGE (if so equipped)

Perform a quick charge by connecting the charge connector of a quick charger at a charge station to the vehicle.

It takes approximately 30 minutes to charge the Li-ion battery to 80% when the low battery charge warning light illuminates.

To charge your vehicle:

Place the power switch in the OFF position.

Open the charge port lid by pushing the charge port lid opener switch located on the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel and unlatch the charge port cap 09 .

Align the groove of the charge connector with the groove of the charge port, then insert the charge connector.

Grasp the lock lever and then lock the charge connector.

Follow the instructions on the quick charge equipment to start charging. When the equipment is properly installed and ready to charge, a beep sounds twice and the charging status indicator light will change.

To stop charging:

Follow the instructions on the quick charge equipment.

Unlock the charge connector and remove it from the vehicle.

After closing the charge port cap, close the charge port lid.

CLOCK SET/ADJUSTMENT To adjust the instrument panel clock 01 , use the

Settings menu in the vehicle information display.

The Settings menu, 02 , is accessed by pressing the button 03 on the left side of the instrument panel.

Press the button 04 to cycle through the various Settings modes.

This clock is linked to GPS (if so equipped) through the center display clock.

Without any adjustments the correct time will be displayed based on the vehicles current location.

There are also controls in the center display to compensate for daylight savings time.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) WITH EASY FILL TIRE ALERT A CHECK TIRE PRESSURE warning message will

appear in the vehicle information display 01 and the low tire pressure warning light 02 will illuminate when one or more tires are low in pressure and air is needed.

When adding air to an under-inflated tire, the TPMS with Easy Fill Tire Alert system provides visual and audible signals to help you inflate the tires to the recommended COLD tire pressure.

To use the Easy Fill Tire Alert system: 1. Apply the parking brake and press the P (PARK) button on the shift lever. 2. Place the power switch in the ON position. Do not place in the READY to drive mode. 3. Add air to the underinflated tire, and within a few seconds the hazard warning lights will flash. 4. When the designated tire pressure is reached, the horn will beep once and the hazard

warning lights will stop flashing. 5. Repeat this procedure for any additional underinflated tires.

After tire pressures are adjusted, drive the vehicle at speeds above 16 MPH (25 km/h) and the warning and indicator light will disappear.

When the low tire pressure warning light flashes for approximately 1 minute and then remains on, the TPMS is not functioning properly. Have the system checked by a NISSAN-certified LEAF dealer.

Tire pressure rises and falls depending on the heat caused by the vehicles operation and the outside temperature. Low outside temperature can lower the temperature of the air inside the tire, which can cause a lower tire inflation pressure. This may cause the low tire pressure warning light to illuminate. If the warning light illuminates, check the tire pressure in your tires.

REAR HATCH RELEASE To open the rear hatch, unlock it and push the rear hatch opener switch 01 . Pull the rear hatch up to open. The rear hatch can be unlocked by:

Pressing the button 02 on the NISSAN Intelligent Key twice.

Pushing the rear hatch request switch 03 while carrying the Intelligent Key with you.

Pushing the door handle request switch twice.

Pushing the power door lock switch to the position.

The rear hatch does not lock when closed. To lock the rear hatch use the request switch, power door lock, or key fob.

NISSAN INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM The NISSAN Intelligent Key System allows you to lock or unlock the vehicle, open the rear hatch and start your vehicle. It is important to make sure the Intelligent Key is with you (that is, in your pocket or purse).

To lock the vehicle, push either door handle request switch 01 or the rear hatch request switch 02 once or press the button 03 on the key fob.

To unlock the vehicle, perform one of the following procedures:

Push any request switch once; the corresponding door will unlock. Push the request switch again within 60 seconds; all other doors will unlock, or

Press the button 04 on the key fob to unlock the drivers side door. Press the button again; all other doors will unlock.

To open the charge port lid, press and hold the charge port lid opener button 05 for more than 2 seconds.

SEAT ADJUSTMENTS To slide the front seat forward or backward, pull up

on the bar 01 under the front of the seat and slide forward or backward. Release the bar to lock the seat in position.

To recline the seatback, pull up on the lever 02 and lean back. To bring the seatback forward, pull the lever up and lean your body forward. Release the lever to lock the seatback in position.

SEAT LIFTER (drivers seat only)

Pull up or push down the adjusting lever 03 to adjust the seat height to the preferred position.

FOLDING THE REAR SEATBACKS DOWN

Secure the seat belt on the seat belt hooks 04 located on the side wall.

To fold the seatback down, pull the release knob 05 .

To return the seatback to the seating position, lift up each seatback and push it to the upright position until it is latched. Then return the seat belt to its original position.

OUTSIDE MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH To select the right or left side mirror, turn the control

switch 01 right or left.

To adjust the mirror angle, move the control switch 01 up, down, right or left.

To prevent accidentally moving the mirror, turn and set the switch to the middle (neutral) position.

POWER METER The Power Meter displays the traction motor power

consumption and the regenerative brake power applied to the Li-ion battery.

When the battery is charged, power is generated by the regenerative brake system and the central dot moves to the left.

When the battery discharges and power is provided to the motor, the central dot moves to the right.

The number of circles will increase or decrease depending on Li-ion battery conditions (motor output is limited if the Li-ion battery temperature is too high or too low or if the Li-ion battery level is low).

ELECTRIC VEHICLE (EV) SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT The warning light will illuminate if there is a

malfunction in the following systems:

Traction motor and inverter system

Charge port or on-board charger

Li-ion battery system

Cooling system

Shift control system

Emergency shut-off system is activated.

If the warning light illuminates, contact a NISSAN-certified LEAF dealer.

HEADLIGHT CONTROL SWITCH HEADLIGHT CONTROL

Turn the headlight control switch to the position 01 to turn on the front parking, side marker, tail,

license plate and instrument panel lights. Turn the switch to the position 02 to turn on the headlights.

AUTOLIGHT SYSTEM

The autolight system will automatically turn the headlights on when it is dark and off when it is light. The system will keep the headlights on for a period of time after you turn the ignition off and all doors are closed.

To activate the autolight system, turn the headlight control switch to the AUTO position 03 then turn the ignition switch to ON. To deactivate the autolight system, turn the

headlight control switch to the OFF, position 01 or position 02 .

HIGH BEAM SELECT

Push the headlight control switch forward 04 to select the high beam function. The blue indicator light illuminates in the instrument panel. Pull the headlight switch back to the original position to select the low beam. The blue indicator light goes off.

Pull and release the headlight control switch 05 to flash the headlight high beams on and off.

STARTING/STOPPING THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE (EV) SYSTEM It is important to make sure the NISSAN Intelligent Key is with you (that is, in your pocket or purse).

Confirm the parking brake is applied and press the P (PARK) button on the shift lever to place it in the P (PARK) position.

Depress the brake pedal.

Push the power switch to start the EV system.

Check that the READY to drive indicator light 01 illuminates and the start up sound is audible.

Check the Li-ion battery level and the estimated driving range shown on the meter.

TURNING THE EV SYSTEM OFF

Press the P (PARK) button on the shift lever to place it in the P (PARK) position.

Apply the parking brake.

Push the power switch to the OFF position.

FOG LIGHT SWITCH (if so equipped)

In order to operate the fog lights, you must have your headlights on with the low beams selected.

Turn the switch (inside collar) to the position 06 to turn the fog lights on.

Turn the switch (inside collar) to the OFF position to turn the fog lights off.

LANE CHANGE SIGNAL

To signal a lane change, move the lever up or down to the point where the indicator light begins to flash, but the lever does not latch.

The turn signal will flash 3 times automatically. For more information, refer to the Instruments and controls (section 2) of your Owners Manual.

WINDSHIELD WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH Move the lever to the following positions to operate

the windshield wipers:

01 Mist (MIST) This is a one sweep operation of the front wipers.

02 Intermittent (INT) Wipers operate intermittently by moving the lever down to the INT position and then rotating the control ring 03 to increase or decrease INT wiper speed.

04 Low (LO) Front wipers operate at a continuous low-speed.

05 High (HI) Front wipers operate at a continuous high-speed.

06 Pull the lever toward you to activate the front washer. The front wipers will operate several times.

WIPER DRIP

Once the wiper spray cycle is finished, there will be a short delay. Then the wipers will sweep one more time to clear off any remaining drips from the windshield.

REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER AND WASHER

07 Intermittent (INT) Rear wiper operates intermittently.

08 Low (ON) Rear wiper operates at a continuous low-speed.

09 Push the lever forward to activate the rear washer. The rear wiper will operate several times.

AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROLS 01 ON-OFF BUTTON

Press the ON-OFF button to turn the climate control system on or off. 02 AUTO BUTTON

The AUTO mode may be used year-round. Press the AUTO button and the system will automatically control the inside temperature (automatic cooling and/or dehumidified heating), air flow distribution and fan speed.

03 TEMPERATURE CONTROL BUTTON Press the temperature control button up for warmer air or down for cooler air. 04 FAN SPEED CONTROL BUTTON

Press the fan speed control button to manually adjust the fan speed up or down . 05 MODE BUTTON

Push the MODE button to cycle through the following air flow outlets: Air flows from the center and side vents. Air flows from the center, side and foot vents. Air flows mainly from the foot vents. Air flows from the defroster and foot vents. 06 HEAT BUTTON

Press the HEAT button to manually turn the heater on and off. 07 A/C BUTTON

Press the A/C button when you want to manually turn the A/C on or off. 08 AIR RECIRCULATION BUTTON

Press the air recirculation button to recirculate air inside the vehicle. The indicator light on the button will illuminate. This system is used to avoid certain outside odors and helps to adjust the inside vehicle temperature more effectively.

Press the air recirculation button again to turn air recirculation off. This allows outside air to be drawn into the passenger compartment to prevent fogging in defrost, floor, or defrost/floor modes.

The air recirculation mode cannot be activated when the climate control system is in the front defrosting mode or the front defrosting and foot vent mode .

09 DEFROSTING/DEFOGGING FRONT AND SIDE WINDOWS Press the front window defroster button to turn the system on. The A/C automatically

turns on when the defroster mode is selected. To remove fog or moisture from the front window quickly, press the HEAT button and ensure that the A/C button is selected.

Set the temperature control buttons and the fan speed control buttons to their maximum settings.

10 REAR WINDOW AND OUTSIDE MIRROR DEFROSTER SWITCH Push the rear window defroster button to turn the system on or off. The rear window defroster automatically turns off after approximately 15 minutes. 11 CLIMATE CONTROL TIMER INDICATOR

The climate control timer indicator light will illuminate when the timer has been set to operate. The climate control timer may be set to a specific date and time.

FM/AM/SiriusXM* SATELLITE RADIO with CD PLAYER (if so equipped)

01 POWER BUTTON Press the button to turn the audio system on or off.

02 VOLUME BUTTON Press the volume control button up to increase or down to decrease the volume.

03 TUNE/SEEK/CH BUTTON

To manually tune the radio, press the TUNE/SEEK/CH button up or down .

To scan quickly and stop at the previous or next broadcast station, press the TUNE/SEEK/CH button for more than 1.5 seconds.

For satellite radio, press the TUNE/SEEK/CH button to switch to the first channel of the previous or next category.

To change tracks on a CD, press the TUNE/SEEK/CH button.

To fast forward or rewind a track on a CD, press and hold the TUNE/SEEK/CH button.

04 PRESET STATION/CHANNEL KEYS Twelve stations can be set for the FM band, six for the AM band and eighteen for

satellite radio.

To store a station in a preset, you must first select a radio band by pressing the FMAM 05 or XM 06 button, then tune to the desired FM, AM or XM satellite radio station.

Now, select and hold the desired preset key (1-6) to store the selected station in memory. To retrieve a previously set station, select the radio band where it was stored. Then

select the corresponding preset key (1-6).

07 OPEN/TILT BUTTON To insert a CD, press the OPEN/TILT button and the monitor will open. Insert a CD into

the slot with the label side facing up.

To close the monitor, press the OPEN/TILT button again.

08 ZERO EMISSION BUTTON

Press the ZERO EMISSION button to display a menu screen where several electric vehicle driving functions can be set.

*SiriusXM Satellite Radio is only available on vehicles equipped with an optional satellite radio subscription service.

CRUISE CONTROL (if so equipped) The cruise control system enables you to set a

constant cruising speed once the vehicle has reached 25 MPH (40 km/h).

The system will automatically maintain the set speed until you tap the brake pedal, accelerate, cancel or turn the system off.

To activate the cruise control, push the CRUISE ON/OFF switch 01 . The CRUISE indicator light in the instrument panel will illuminate.

To set cruising speed, accelerate the vehicle to the desired speed, push the COAST/SET switch 02 and release. Take your foot off the accelerator pedal. Your vehicle will maintain the set speed.

To reset at a faster cruising speed, push and hold the ACCEL/RES switch 03 . When the vehicle attains the desired speed, release the switch.

To reset at a slower cruising speed, push and hold the COAST/SET switch 02 . Release the switch when the vehicle slows to the desired speed.

To cancel the preset speed, push the CANCEL switch 04 .

To turn off cruise control, push the CRUISE ON/OFF switch 01 . The CRUISE indicator light in the instrument panel will turn off.

USB/iPOD INTERFACE The USB jack 01 is located on the instrument

panel below the climate controls.

When a compatible USB memory device or iPod

is plugged into the USB jack, compatible audio files stored on the device can be played through the vehicles audio system.

PANDORA OPERATION (if so equipped)

With an iPhone connected via USB/iPod interface and the Pandora app installed on the iPhone there is a Pandora screen that will display. This acts as an extension of the iPhones Pandora interface that will display the station, album artwork if available and menu, Thumbs Down, Bookmark, Thumbs Up and play/pause buttons.

TRIP COMPUTER The Trip Computer 01 is located in the vehicle

information display.

With the power switch in the ON position, trip computer modes can be selected by pressing the button 02 on the left side of the instrument panel.

The following modes can be selected in the display:

To 100% Charge Displays the estimated time to a full Li-ion charge by using either 120 volts or 240 volts.

Energy Economy Displays the average and instant energy economy.

Average Speed Displays the average vehicle speed since the last reset.

Driving Distance and Elapsed Time Displays the total distance the vehicle has been driven and the time since the last reset.

SOC% Displays the vehicles current state of charge.

Settings Allows you to adjust the system settings for features such as the clock, reminders or preferences for alerts, maintenance intervals and language displays.

Press the button 03 to cycle through the various setting modes.

Press the button 02 to choose the selected mode.

Warning Displays when a warning message is present.

To reset Average Energy Economy, Average Speed, Driving Distance and Elapsed Time, go to that mode on the trip computer and hold the button 03 for longer than 1 second.

BLUETOOTH HANDS-FREE PHONE SYSTEM A cellular telephone should not be used while driving

so full attention may be given to vehicle operation.*

SYSTEM OPERATING TIPS

Press the or button to interrupt the voice prompts at any time and speak a command after the tone.

To use the system faster, you may speak the second level commands with the main menu command on the main menu. For example, press the or button and after the tone say, Call Redial.

The Help command can be used to hear a list of available commands at any time.

Reduce background noise as much as possible by closing windows and pointing HVAC vents away from the ceiling.

Speak naturally without long pauses and without raising your voice.

When speaking Phonebook names, please be aware some phones require the last name to be spoken before the first name. For example, Michael Smith may be spoken as Smith Michael.

To cancel a voice recognition session, simply wait 5 seconds, say Cancel or Quit, or press and hold the button for 5 seconds.

To increase or decrease the volume of the voice prompts, push the volume control switches + or - on the steering wheel or turn the control dial on the audio system while the audio system is responding.

If the Voice Recognition system does not recognize your voice commands, train the system using the Voice Adaptation Mode. See your Owners Manual for detailed information.

The vehicle must be stationary when connecting the phone.

1. Press the button on the steering wheel. The system announces the available commands.

2. Say: Connect phone. The system acknowledges the command and announces the next set of available commands.

3. Say: Add phone. The system acknowledges the command and asks you to initiate connecting from the phone handset.

4. Initiate connecting from the phone:

The connecting procedure varies according to each cellular phone model. For detailed connecting instructions and compatible phones, please visit www.nissanusa.com/bluetooth.

When prompted for a PIN code, enter 1234 from the handset. (The PIN code is assigned by NISSAN and cannot be changed.)

5. Say a name for the phone when the system asks you to provide one. You can give the phone a name of your choice.

PHONEBOOK SETUP

The phonebook stores up to 1,000 names for each phone paired with the system.

Depending on your cellular phone, the system may automatically download your cellular phones entire phonebook to the vehicles Bluetooth system.

If the phonebook does not download automatically, entries can be individually downloaded.

To manually download entries: 1. Push the button on the steering wheel. 2. After the tone, say Phonebook. 3. After the next tone, say Transfer Entry. The system acknowledges the command and

asks you to initiate the transfer from the phone handset. The new contact phone number will be transferred from the cellular phone to the vehicle.

The transfer procedure varies according to each cellular phone. See your cellular phones Owners Manual for details. You can also visit www.nissanusa.com/bluetooth for instructions on transferring phone numbers from NISSAN-recommended cellular phones.

4. The system repeats the number and prompts you for the next command. When you have finished entering numbers or transferring an entry, choose Store.

5. The system confirms the name, location and number.

MAKING A CALL FROM THE PHONEBOOK

In some cases, names stored using all UPPERCASE letters may not be recognized by the voice recognition system.

1. Press the button. 2. After waiting for the tone, say Call. 3. After the next tone, speak a name of a phonebook entry. For example, Michael Smith. 4. Once you have confirmed the name and location, the system begins the call.

MAKING A CALL BY PHONE NUMBER

1. Press the button. A tone will sound. 2. Say: Call. The system acknowledges the command and announces the next set of

available commands. 3. Say: Phone Number. The system acknowledges the command and announces the next

set of available commands. 4. Say the number you wish to call starting with the area code in single digit format. 5. When you have finished speaking the phone number, the system repeats it back and

announces the available commands. 6. Say: Dial. The system acknowledges the command and makes the call.

BLUETOOTH SYSTEM WITH NAVIGATION (if so equipped) Bluetooth Streaming Audio allows you to use a

compatible Bluetooth phone to play audio files on your device. Your compatible cellular phone can be connected to the vehicles audio system, allowing audio files to play through the vehicles speakers.

PAIRING PROCEDURE

Make sure the vehicle is stationary when pairing the phone.

1. Press the button 01 , and select the Pair Phone key.

2. Initiate pairing from the phone. The pairing procedure varies according to

each cellular phone model. For detailed pairing instructions and a list of compatible phones, please visit www.nissanusa.com/bluetooth.

When prompted for a PIN code, enter 1234 from the handset. (The PIN code is assigned by NISSAN and cannot be changed.)

3. When the pairing is complete, the screen will return to the Phone menu display.

MAKING A CALL

To make a call, follow this procedure:

1. Press the button 01 on the steering wheel. The Phone menu will appear on the control panel display.

2. Select the Handset Phonebook, Vehicle Phonebook, Call History or Dial Number key.

3. Select the desired entry from the list.

4. Select Call to start dialing the number.

Settings Touch to customize the system to make it easier for you to use.

Phone Touch to set useful functions for the Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System.

CARWINGS Touch to display information feeds. Settings for CARWINGS can also be performed.

HOMELINK UNIVERSAL TRANSCEIVER (if so equipped) The HomeLink Universal Transceiver can learn and consolidate the functions of up to

three different hand-held transmitters, operating items such as garage doors, property gates, outdoor and indoor lights or alarm systems.

To program the HomeLink Universal Transceiver:

Position the handheld transceiver 1-3 in (26-76 mm) away from the HomeLink surface, keeping the HomeLink indicator light in view.

Press and hold the desired HomeLink button and the handheld transmitter button simultaneously until the HomeLink indicator light flashes slowly and then rapidly.

Both buttons may be released when the indicator light flashes rapidly.

To verify the programing is complete, press and hold the HomeLink and observe the indicator light:

A solid, continuous light indicates the programing is complete and the HomeLink button will activate your device.

A blinking light that turns to a solid continuous light after 2 seconds indicates additional steps are required to complete the programing.

An additional person may make the remaining steps easier. To complete the programing process:

At the receiver of the device that you are programing to HomeLink, press and release the learn or smart button (the name may vary by manufacturer but it is usually located near where the hanging antenna wire is attached to the unit). You have approximately 30 seconds to initiate the following step.

Press and hold the programed HomeLink button for 2 seconds and release.

You may have to repeat the previous 2 steps up to 3 times to complete the programing process. HomeLink should now activate your device.
