Place the base unit on a stable surface, free from heat and moisture and within easy reach of a mains socket.

Always make sure the appliance is unplugged from the mains when cleaning, assembling or removing attachments.

Handle the blades carefully, they are extremely sharp. If the rubber seal ring in the blade assembly is also

taken out to clean, make sure to re-assemble it back properly in place to avoid leakage (if applicable).

Locking the Blender Jar and Food Processor Bowl The lid of the blender jar must be locked to the jar, and the jar

must be secured and locked to the motor base unit, otherwise the appliance will not operate!

motor base unit, otherwise the appliance will not operate!

The food processor bowl has marks for the bowl lid to align.

The locking marks between the motor base unit and jar/bowl are the same.

To lock, turn the lid clockwise to lock to the blender jar or food processor bowl. Turn the jar or bowl clockwise to lock to the motor base unit. A click should be heard to indicate that they are locked. To ensure that they are locked, you can try to move or lift the lid or jar/bowl to check if they will be moved or lifted easily; if yes, that means they are not locked properly.

To unlock, turn anti-clockwise.

1. Cut the ingredients into 25mm (1) cubes before placing them into the blender jar. If the food is very solid or dry, cut the pieces into smaller cubes.

2. Fill the blender jar with the ingredients.

3. Do not overfill the jar. The maximum capacity is 1.5 litres. If you are preparing a large quantity, use several smaller batches.

4. If the ingredients are very dry, put some liquid into the jar.

L500FP21_IB_Final210601.indd 8 1/6/2021 4:12 PM

9

Do not fill in more than the maximum indicated level. To blend hard ingredients in large amount, you can

blend them separately in several small batches which may require more than 2 or more cycles of blending. The number of blending cycle depends on the food load and type of food load.

Do not put the following as they may cause damage: bones, large pieces of solid, frozen food, or tough foods such as turnips.

Continuous operating time must not be more than 3 minutes. Let the appliance rest between 2 running cycles, or allow the appliance to cool down fully before re-using.

Never blend very hot liquids. This is dangerous as the contents may erupt.

Fitting the Stopper/Measuring Cup The stopper has an integral measuring cup useful for measuring small amounts of ingredients.

Insert the stopper in the centre of the lid.

To avoid splashing, always operate the blender jar with the stopper firmly in place.

Operation 1. Make sure the jar and the lid are secure and locked in place.

2. Set the Speed Selector to 0.

3. Plug your appliance into the mains socket.

Operation Mode

Continuous (Normal) operation

Select the desired operating speed. There are 2 speeds.

Move the Speed Selector progressively to the right to increase the speed.

When you start blending use a low speed to begin with and gradually increase the speed if necessary.

To stop the operation, turn the Speed Selector back to 0.

Pulsed operation Use this mode when ingredients need to be blended in small repeated bursts. Turn the Speed Selector to P and hold

it there for a short period of time. To stop the operation, release the Speed

Selector which will then automatically return to 0.

During blending, you can feed in small amounts of food or liquid through the lid by removing the stopper.

If you spill liquid on the base immediately switch off and wipe dry.

After you have finished blending: 1. Set the Speed Selector to 0. Unplug the appliance.

2. Hold the jar by the handle and carefully turn it anti-clockwise to release it. (This may be easier with one hand on the base and one hand holding the jar handle).

3. To pour out the contents, rotate the lid of the jar anti-clockwise to free it and then lift off the lid. Pour or spoon out the contents carefully.
