Hinweis: Alle Modelle ohne Frontbelftung bzw.

23

EN INSTALLATION

Before first Use

Allow 24 hours before switching on the wine cellar. During this time we recommend that you leave the door open to clear any residual odors.

Note: All models without front venting (air opening) are strictly for free standing only.

Location

The location you have selected for your wine cellar should:

be unencumbered and well ventilated; be well away from any heat source and direct sunlight; not be too damp (laundry, pantry, bathroom etc.); have a flat floor; have a standard and reliable electricity supply have a surge protector fitted to the electrical outlet; Away from the microwave oven. Certain microwave ovens do not have wave

interference shield. When placed within 1 meter vicinity of the wine cabinet, they may affect the operation of the wine cabinet.

Placing in cold or hot temperature conditions may cause cellars temperatures fluctuating, and it will not reach the ideal one.

Installation

Unpack and remove all of the protection and adhesive strips from the packaging around and inside the wine cellar.

The wine cellar must be positioned such that the plug is accessible. Release the power cord. Move your wine cellar to its final location. The wine cellar should be installed in a suitable place where the compressor will not be subject to physical contact.

Wine cellar must be leveled BEFORE loading your wines. Your wine cellar is equipped with 4 adjustable feet to facilitate easy leveling. The cooler recommends that you tighten the back feet to the maximum and adjust the front feet to level the wine cellar.

You can set the temperature by pushing the or buttons on the control panel. The temperature that you desire to set will increase 1 F or 1 C if you push the button once, on the contrary the temperature will decrease 1F or 1C if you push the button once.

When you store mostly white wines, the temperature needs to be set at between 8-14 C (46- 57 F). When you store mostly sparkling wines, the temperature needs to be set at between 8-9 C (46-47 F).

Note: When you use the wine chiller for the fi rst time or restart the wine chiller after having been shut off for a long time, there could be a few degrees variance between the temperature you select and the one indicated on the LED readout. This is normal and it is due to the length of the activation time. Once the wine chiller is running for a few hours everything will be back to normal.

Storage capacity

You can place 26 standard bottles in this wine chiller. Many bottles may differ in size and dimensions. As such the actual number of bottles you may be able to store may vary. Bottle capacities are approximate maximums when storing traditional Bordeaux 750ml bottles and include bulk storage.

25

EN Interior light

You can turn the interior light ON or OFF by pushing the button marked with the bulb symbol . You have to push the button marked with the bulb symbol again and the light will turn back on.

Shelves

The shelves are fully adjustable to suit various wine bottle shapes and sizes. To prevent damaging the door gasket, make sure the door is fully open when pulling shelves out of the rail compartment.

For easy access to the bottles stored, pull the shelves out approximately 1/3. The shelves are designed with an emergency stop to prevent them being removed too far when loaded.

Door lock

Your unit is provided with a lock and key combination. The keys are located inside the plastic bag that contains the owners manual. Insert the key into the lock and turn it counterclockwise to unlock the door. To lock the door do the reverse operation making sure the metal pin is engaged completely. Remove the key and place it in a secure place for safekeeping.

Loading the wine cooler

Your appliance is ideally suited to store 0.75 litre Bordeaux style wine bottles. Whilst it can store larger bottles, you must make sure that they do not prevent the door from shutting properly.

Always check that you can close the door without it fouling on a wine bottle, before shutting it.

When loading several bottles of wine at once, it will take longer for the appliance to cool the individual bottles.

As many bottles may differ in size and dimensions, the actual number of bottles you are able to store may vary.

The maximum storage number is based on standard 0.75-litre-Bordeaux-style wine bottles. .

Storing your wines

The chart below indicates the ideal storage temperatures for different types of wine.

26

EN Recommended Temperatures for Chilling Wine

Red wines 15-18 C

Dry/white wines 9-14 C

Rose wines 10-11 C

Sparkling wines 5-9 C

Other storage recommendations

Temperature stability is the most important factor when it comes to storing wine. Exposure to light, vibrations or fluctuations in temperature and humidity can all

cause wine to spoil. When properly stored, wines not only maintain their quality but many will actually improve in aroma, flavour and complexity as they mature.

Wines kept at a higher temperature will age faster. Wine that is exposed to temperatures that are greater than 18C (64F) will suffer from poorer flavour and aroma.

If wine is kept at too low a temperature, this can result in the development of harmful deposits. A humidity of 60%~70% is ideal for keeping corks from shrinking.

After a bottle of wine has been opened, the wine comes into contact with air. So it is best to store the remainder of the bottle upright, to minimize the surface area of the wine that is coming into contact with the air.

Once opened, wine will remain in a drinkable condition for two days for delicate whites or three days for rich reds, as long as the bottle as been resealed. You should make sure that the seal is firm by checking the stopper.

Special stoppers that keep wine sparking and Champagne bubbling for one or two days after opening, can be bought at most good wine shops.

When stored correctly, white wines can keep well for up to two years. Full bodied reds will age well for ten years and dessert wines will age well for up to twenty years.

When you buy a bottle of wine, you should transfer it to a suitable storage location immediately (if you are not going to store it in your wine cooler).

Cheaper bottles of wine will not age as well as more expensive ones. To make the most of the bouquet and taste of your wine, never fill more than half

a glass at a time. It will also help if the shape of your wine glass is appropriate for your wine. The size and shape of your wine glasss bowl will determine the intensity and complexity of the bouquet. The stem should be long enough to allow you to avoid hand contact with the bowl of the glass and should be tulip-shaped or tapered at the top.

EN CLEANING AND CARE

Cleaning the Unit

First switch off the unit and disconnect the power plug from the socket. Remove the entire contents.

Wash the interior with a damp cloth dipped in lukewarm water with a little detergent.

Make sure that the rubber seal on the door is clean so that the unit remains powerful.

The exterior of the wine refrigerator should be cleaned with a mild detergent. Dry the inside and outside with a soft cloth. Dust and anything else that blocks the exhaust air openings will reduce the cooling

capacity of the unit. If necessary, suck off the exhaust air opening.

68

IT Temperature consigliate

Vino rosso 15-18 C

Vino bianco secco 9-14 C

Ros 10-11 C

Spumante 5-9 C

I vini conservati a temperature pi alte, invecchiano pi velocemente.

69

IT PULIZIA E MANUTENZIONE
