If you will be using the receiver with the base, you will need to use the AC adaptor... For best reception, unwrap and fully extend the AC adaptor cord... Insert the AC adaptor jack into the base socket and then insert the plug into a standard wall outlet...

If you will be monitoring baby while charging the battery, rotate the Off/On/Volume dial on the side of the receiver to the ONposition... The power indicator will also light...
