1. Decide upon your combination and enter it on the Security Form below, along with the Model Number, Serial Number AND Key Number, and store this leaflet in a safe place NOT IN THE SAFE. (THE SERIAL NUMBER IS LOCATED ON THE REAR FACE OF THE BATTERY COVER)

2. Install your safe as detailed in this leaflet.

3. Complete the enclosed Registration Form and return it to Clarke Customer Services.

IMPORTANT: This must be returned to the address stated within seven days of purchase.

OVERRIDE INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPENING THE SAFE

A manual override fail safe system is incorporated in your safe. If you forget or misplace your combination, remove the battery cover as previously described, then gently pull out the battery holder.

1. Choose a suitable location for your safe ensuring the mounting surface is solid enough to hold the weight of the safe.

2. Mark out four pilot holes as detailed in fig. 3 and drill through with a 10.5 mm drill.

Note : If you are using the supplied expansion bolts but without the sleeve, then the holes need to be counter sunk to accommodate the bolts tapered head.

3. Position the safe over the holes, locating onto the bolts. Fit the nuts and washers supplied and tighten.

Note : Care must be taken when tightening the nuts. Overtightening could cause damage to the mounting surface.

NOTE: When positioning the safe, ensure there is room for the door to open fully...do not locate it too close to a wall for example.

1. Choose a suitable location for your safe ensuring the mounting surface is solid enough to hold the weight of the safe.

2. Mark out four pilot holes as detailed in fig. 3 and drill with a 10.5 mm drill deep enough to take the expansion bolt shank.

3. Insert the expansion bolts into the hole so that the sleeve is level with the surface.

4. Place the safe onto the bolts locating the four mounting holes.

5. Fit the supplied nut and washers and tighten securely ensuring the nuts are tighten progressively.

NOTE: To facilitate the removal of the battery holder and to avoid damaging the internal wiring, it is recommended that you remove the two right hand batteries from the holder, then slide the two left hand batteries to the right, as shown in Fig.2. The battery holder may then be gently manouvered out of its recess. Removing the battery holder reveals the keyhole arrowed in Fig. 2.

Insert the cylindrical key supplied, and turn it clockwise whilst also turning the rotary knob clockwise. This will manually open your safe at any time.

INSTALLING THE SAFE. The safe has four mounting holes at its underside for mounting horizontally to the floor or shelf/ furniture, and four holes at the back for vertical mounting to a wall etc. It is supplied with four expansion bolts that can be used to fix the safe to:

(1) A solid surface, i.e. concrete, brickwork etc. (see fig. 1), or

(2) The bolts can be used without the sleeve to fix to a shelf or furniture (see fig. 2).

Note: Your safe is only as secure as its mountings. The weight of the safe itself, may not deter an intruder from carrying it off to open at leisure. Plan the installation carefully, and if necessary, seek expert advice.

LIMITED WARRANTY If your CLARKE STRONG-ARM safe fails to operate due to manufacturers defect at any time within one year of purchase, we will, at our discretion, repair or replace the unit at no charge to the original owner. Goods should be returned, postage paid, to CLARKE International, at the address given in the Warranty Registration form. Please retain your receipt as proof of date of purchase. This warranty shall be void if the product has been damaged by improper installation, neglect, accident, misuse, exposure to extreme heat or humidity, or as a result of service or modification not authorized by CLARKE International. All costs of removal and reinstallation of the product are the owners responsibility. No other expressed warranty is given. Repair or replacement of the product is our only liability. . In no event shall CLARKE International be liable for consequential or incidental damages. This does not effect your statutory rights.

IMPORTANT: IF YOU FAIL TO REGISTER YOUR SAFE WITH CLARKE INTERNATIONAL, AND SUBSEQUENTLY LOSE YOUR KEYS, YOUR WARRANTY BECOMES NULL AND VOID.

OPENING - FIRST TIME The Safe is opened by entering a combination of numbers on the digital keypad, then turning the rotary knob on the safe door. The digital key pad is battery operated.

To open the door of the safe for the first time, Press the S Key, then enter any number and press the E key. This will allow the safe to be opened using the rotary knob.

NOTE: Once you commence entering the combination on the keypad, or during subsequent re- programming, you have 10 seconds to complete the sequence, otherwise the keypad will shut down and you must restart the sequence.

PROGRAMMING AND OPENING THE SAFE

1. Locate the red button on the inside of the door near the hinges.

2. Press the S key and then the red button. You will hear a beep confirming the combination

can now be set.

3. Write down the numbers you decide for your combination (from 1 to 12 digits) and enter them carefully. Confirm the new combination by pressing the E key.

File your combination away from the safe. 4. To open the safe subsequently, press the S

key, enter the combination and then press the E key. This allows the safe to be opened by turning the rotary knob.

Note: 1. You have five seconds after pressing the E

key before the mechanism re-locks. If this occurs simply reenter your combination.

2. As a security measure...If four consecutive incorrect groups of numbers are entered (i.e. four incorrect sets), the keypad will shut down for 5 minutes

BATTERY REPLACEMENT WARNING

If the batteries are low, a red light will glow on the digital keypad. When the electronic system signals that the batteries should be changed, you have another one (1) to two (2) months of use.

Remove the battery cover, below the keypad, by pressing down hard on the raised moulded thumb guides whilst pushing to the right. When the gap is approx. 1/2 as shown in Fig.1, carefully pull off the cover...DO NOT force it off. Replace the batteries ensuring correct polarity according to the symbols within the compartment.
