Safety instructions Please read and follow the operating instructions carefully and keep them for later reference. Enclose these instructions when you give this appliance to someone else. This appliance is intended for domestic use only.

WDanger of electric shock! Only use the appliance indoors at room temperature and up to 2000 m above sea level. The appliance may only be connected to a power supply with alternating current via a correctly installed socket with earthing. Ensure that the protective conductor system of the domestic supply has been correctly installed. Connect and operate the appliance only according to the type plate specifications. To avoid potential hazards, repairs such as replacing a damaged cable must only be carried out by our customer service personnel. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Keep children under 8 years of age away from the appliance and connecting cable and do not allow them to use the appliance. Children shall not play with the appliance. Parts and operating controls 1 Kettle (with water level indicator) 2 Lid with lock 3 Lid release button 4 ON/OFF O switch, illuminated 5 Limescale filter (removable) 6 Base 7 Cable tidy Important: Use the kettle only with its included base.

Only fill the kettle with water. Milk and instant beverages will burn and damage the appliance. Never operate the kettle without water and do not overfill it; observe the min and max markings. If the kettle is too full, the water will boil over!

Before using for the first time

Remove any stickers or film. Unroll the right amount of cable from the cable tidy and plug it in.

Fill the kettle with water. Bring the water to a boil and discard it. Repeat the procedure. This will make sure that the kettle is clean for normal use.

When the water comes to a boil for the first time, add a tablespoon of white vinegar.

Boiling water Fill the kettle with fresh water through the spout or the open lid (press lid release button).

Read the quantity on the water level indicator. Do not fill with less than 0.3 litres or more than 1.7 litres of water!

Close the lid until it locks and place the kettle on the base.

Press down the ON/OFF O switch; the switch lights up. The water is heated.

The kettle switches off automatically once the water has boiled.

The appliance can also be switched off at any time by pulling up the ON/OFF O switch. Warning: If you remove the kettle from the base and replace it before the heating process is over, the kettle will not continue to heat the water. N.B.: Only operate the kettle with the lid closed and the limescale filter inserted, otherwise the kettle will not switch off. For physical reasons, the base may collect some condensation water. This is normal; it does not mean that the kettle leaks. After boiling, let the kettle cool down for 5 minutes before refilling it with water. Warning: If the kettle is empty when switching the appliance on, the overheat control will switch it off automatically.

Cleaning and maintenance W Danger of electric shock!

Never immerse the device in water or place it in the dishwasher! Do not steam-clean the appliance.

Before cleaning, unplug the appliance from the power outlet.

Clean the outside of the kettle and base with a damp cloth. Do not use strong or abrasive cleaning agents.

Remove the limescale filter, soak it in a little vinegar, then rinse clean with clear water.

Rinse the kettle and the limescale filter with clear water.

Descaling Regular descaling

makes your kettle last longer; ensures proper function; saves energy.

Descale the kettle with vinegar or a commercial descaling agent.

Fill the kettle with water up to the max mark and bring to a boil. Next, add a small amount of white vinegar and let it sit for several hours. You can also use a commercial descaling product and follow the manufacturers instructions.

Rinse the kettle and the limescale filter with clear water.

Attention: Never use hard objects to remove limescale residue as this will damage the seal. Tip: If you use the kettle daily, descale more frequently.

Troubleshooting The appliance does not heat and the ON/OFF O switch does not light up. The overheat control has tripped. Let the kettle cool down for some time so that the appliance can be switched on again.

The unit turns off before the water comes to a boil. The kettle contains too much scale. Descale the kettle as per the instructions.

WStromschlaggefahr! Das Gert nur in Innenrumen bei Raumtemperatur und bis zu 2000 m ber Meereshhe verwenden. Das Gert darf nur ber eine vorschriftsmig installierte Steckdose mit Erdung an ein Stromnetz mit Wechselstrom angeschlossen werden. Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Schutzleitersystem der elektrischen Hausinstallation vorschriftsmig installiert ist. Gert nur gem Angaben auf dem Typen schild anschlieen und betreiben. Reparaturen am Gert, wie z. B. eine beschdigte Netzanschlussleitung auswechseln, drfen nur durch unseren Kundendienst ausgefhrt werden, um Gefhrdungen zu vermeiden. Dieses Gert kann von Kindern ab 8 Jahren und darber und von Personen mit reduzierten physischen, sensorischen oder mentalen Fhigkeiten oder Mangel an Erfahrung und/oder Wissen benutzt werden, wenn sie beaufsichtigt oder bezglich des sicheren Gebrauchs des Gertes unterwiesen wurden und die daraus resultierenden Gefahren verstanden haben. Kinder unter 8 Jahren sind vom Gert und der Anschlussleitung fernzuhalten und drfen das Gert nicht bedienen. Kinder drfen nicht mit dem Gert spielen. Reinigung und Entkalkung drfen nicht durch Kinder vorgenommen werden, es sei denn, sie sind 8 Jahre oder lter und werden beaufsichtigt. Es darf keine Flssigkeit auf die Gertesteckverbindung berlaufen. Gert, Basis oder Netzkabel niemals in Wasser tauchen. Die Kanne nur mit der beiliegenden Basis verwenden. Nur benutzen, wenn Zuleitung und Gert keine Beschdigungen aufweisen. Im Fehlerfall sofort den Netzstecker ziehen oder die Netzspannung ausschalten.

WVerbrennungsgefahr! Nach dem Gebrauch knnen die Oberflchen des Heizelements noch einige Zeit hei sein.

KWARNUNG: Dieses Gert nicht in der Nhe von Badewannen, Duschen, Waschbecken oder anderen Gefen benutzen, die Wasser enthalten.

WErstickungsgefahr! Kinder nicht mit Verpackungsmaterial spielen lassen.

WVerletzungsgefahr! Fehlanwendung des Gertes kann zu Verletzungen fhren.

WAchtung! Reinigung von Oberflchen, die mit Nahrungsmitteln in Berhrung kommen!

Herzlichen Glckwunsch zum Kauf dieses Gertes aus unserem Hause Bosch. Sie haben ein hochwertiges Produkt erworben, das Ihnen viel Freude bereiten wird.

Teile und Bedienelemente 1 Kanne (mit Wasserstandsanzeige) 2 Deckel mit Verriegelung 3 Deckel-ffnungstaste 4 Schalter O Ein/Aus, beleuchtet 5 Kalksieb (herausnehmbar) 6 Basis 7 Kabelaufwicklung Wichtig: Die Kanne nur mit der beiliegenden Basis verwenden.

Wasserkocher ausschlielich mit Wasser befllen. Milch oder Instant- Produkte brennen an und beschdigen das Gert. Kanne nicht ohne Wasser betreiben oder berfllen, min und max Markierung beachten. Bei berfllung des Wasser kochers kocht das Wasser ber!

Vor dem ersten Gebrauch Vorhandene Aufkleber und Folien entfernen.

Zuleitung aus der Kabelaufwicklung auf gewnschte Lnge abwickeln und anschlieen.

Kanne zweimal mit klarem Wasser fllen und jeweils kochen lassen, um sie ganz zu subern.

Beim ersten Aufkochen einen Esslffel Haushaltsessig dazugeben.

Wasser kochen Durch die Schnaupe oder den geffneten Deckel (Deckel-ffnungstaste drcken) frisches Wasser einfllen.

Die Fllmenge an der Wasserstands- anzeige ablesen. Nicht weniger als 0,3 Liter und nicht mehr als 1,7 Liter Wasser einfllen!

Deckel zum Schlieen einrasten lassen und Kanne auf die Basis aufsetzen.

Den Schalter O Ein/Aus nach unten drcken, der Schalter leuchtet auf. Das Wasser wird erhitzt.

Der Wasserkocher schaltet nach Beendigung des Kochvorgangs automatisch ab.

Durch Ziehen des Schalters O Ein/Aus nach oben kann das Gert auch jederzeit ausgeschaltet werden. Achtung: Wird die Kanne vor Beendigung des Kochvorgangs abgehoben und wieder aufgesetzt, setzt sich der Kochvorgang nicht fort. Hinweise: Nur mit geschlossenem Deckel und eingesetztem Kalksieb betreiben, der Wasserkocher schaltet sonst nicht ab. Aus physikalischen Grnden kann Kondenswasser an der Basis entstehen. Dies ist jedoch ein normaler Vorgang, die Kanne ist nicht undicht. Gert nach jedem Kochvorgang 5 Minuten abkhlen lassen, bevor wieder Wasser eingefllt wird. Achtung: Wenn die Kanne beim Einschal- ten leer ist, schaltet der berhitzungsschutz das Gert automatisch aus.

Reinigung und Pflege W Stromschlaggefahr!

Das Gert niemals in Wasser tauchen oder in den Geschirrspler geben! Keinen Dampfreiniger benutzen.

Netzstecker ziehen. Kanne und Basis mit einem Tuch auen nur feucht abwischen. Keine scharfen oder scheuernden Reinigungsmittel verwenden.

Kalksieb entnehmen und in etwas Essig einlegen, mit klarem Wasser aussplen.

Kanne und Kalksieb mit klarem Wasser nachsplen.

Entkalken Regelmiges Entkalken

verlngert die Lebensdauer des Gertes; gewhrleistet eine einwandfreie Funktion; spart Energie.

Die Kanne mit Essig oder einem handelsblichen Entkalkungsmittel entkalken.

Kanne bis zur Markierung max mit Wasser befllen und aufkochen lassen. Anschlieend mit etwas Haus halts essig auffllen und mehrere Stunden einwirken lassen oder Entkalkungs mittel nach Hersteller angaben anwenden.

Anschlieend Kanne und Kalksieb mit klarem Wasser splen.

Achtung: Kalkreste keinesfalls mit harten Gegenstnden entfernen, sonst wird die Dichtung beschdigt. Tipp: Den Wasserkocher bei tglicher Benutzung fters entkalken.

Kleine Strungen selbst beheben Das Gert heizt nicht, der Schalter O Ein/Aus leuchtet nicht auf.

Der berhitzungsschutz hat geschaltet. Die Kanne lngere Zeit abkhlen lassen, damit das Gert wieder eingeschaltet werden kann.

Das Gert schaltet vor Beendigung des Kochvorgangs ab. Das Gert ist verkalkt. Das Gert nach Anweisung entkalken.
