About the Device The DSL5029EN(1T1R) provides topnotch capabilities that will perfectly

compliment your customers internet needs.

Distinguished for ADSL2/2+ Connections. Simplified and perfected for

ADSL connectivity, the Aztech DSL5029EN(1T1R) is capable of

supporting both ADSL2 and ADSL2+ connections, making this device a

commendable partner for ADSL subscribers.

First-rate Wireless Speed and Performance. With its support for the

802.11n wireless standard, the DSL5029EN(1T1R) can provide up to

150Mbps data transfer rates, making it the ideal choice for high

bandwidth consuming internet activities such as web surfing, social

networking, online gaming, and/or even HD audio / video streaming.

Simplified One-Touch Setup through Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS).

Instead of connecting conventionally to the wireless network by

entering a password, WPS-enabled devices can easily connect to the

DSL5029EN(1T1R) through a simple press of the WPS button on both

devices.

TR-069 for Remote Management. Now with TR-069 support, the

DSL5029EN(1T1R) is capable of supporting remote management,

Getting Started Setting up the device is easy. The flowchart below provides an outline of the

steps needed in order to complete the installation. Brief descriptions appear

beside each step. Detailed instructions are provided in the subsequent

pages.

You may now access the internet.

You may need to check some settings or disable some applications before proceeding with the installation.

Connect the telephone cables, Ethernet cables, and power adapter.

You may configure your routers wireless settings and other router features through the Web User Interface.

Planning Your Network Before moving ahead to setup your network, it is a good idea to draw out a

network diagram to help identify your network devices and plan out how to

connect these devices. The illustration below is an example of a network

diagram.

Each port in the router can be used for different connections. For example:

Ethernet 1 connect to a Desktop / PC

Wireless connect a wireless laptop to the built in wireless access point

To create a network diagram:

For wireless devices, identify the wireless devices you want to include in

the network

For wired devices, identify which modem port you want to use for each

device.

Removing/Disabling Conflicts

To ensure that the modem installation moves on smoothly, you need to

remove or disable conflicts that may interfere with the installation. Probable

conflicts may include:

Internet sharing applications

Proxy software

Security software

TCP/IP settings

Internet properties

Temporary Internet files

Internet Sharing, Proxy, and Security Applications Internet sharing, proxy software, and firewall applications may interfere with

the modem installation. These should be removed or disabled before starting

the installation.

If you have any of the following or similar applications installed on your

computer, remove or disable them according to the manufacturers

instructions.

Configuring TCP/IP Settings Check if your computer uses the default TCP/IP settings.

To check the TCP/IP properties:

1. Select Start > Run. The Run dialog box would appear.

2. Enter control ncpa.cpl on the input box, and then click the OK button.

This would open the Network Connections window in your computer.

3. Right-click LAN and then select Properties. The Local Area Connection

Properties dialog box would appear.

4. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click Properties. The Internet

Protocol (TCP/IP) dialog box would appear.

5. Select Obtain an IP address automatically.

6. Click the OK button to close the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) dialog box.

7. Click the OK button to close the Local Area Connection Properties

dialog box.

Configuring Internet Properties To set the Internet Properties:

1. Select Start > Run. This opens the Run dialog box.

2. Enter control inetcpl.cpl and then click OK to open the Internet

Properties window.

3. Click on the Connections tab.

4. On the Dial-up and Virtual Private Network settings pane, select Never

dial a connection.

5. Click OK to close Internet Properties.

Removing Temporary Internet Files Temporary Internet files are files from Web sites that are stored in your

computer. Delete these files to clean the cache and remove footprints left by

the Web pages you visited.

To remove temporary Internet files:

1. Select Start > Run to open the Run dialog box.

2. Enter control and then click the OK button to open the Control Panel.

3. Double-click Internet Options.

4. On the Internet Options window, in the Temporary Internet Files pane,

click Delete Cookies.

5. Click Delete Files.

6. Click OK to close Internet Properties.

Setup the Device When installing the modem, find an area where there are enough electrical

outlets for the modem, the main computer, and your other computer

devices. You can refer to the diagram below for further reference while

setting up your device.

To setup the modem:

1. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable from the modems Ethernet port

and plug the other end into the Ethernet port of your computer.

If you have another device you need to connect through wire into the

modem, use another piece of Ethernet cable. Plug one end of the

Ethernet cable from the computers Ethernet port and then plug the

other end into an available Ethernet port in the modem.

2. Plug one end of the telephone cable from the POTS Splitters ADSL port

and then plug the other end into the modems DSL port.

POTS Splitter (DSL Microfilter)

Your phone line carries with it both phone calls and Internet signals.

When you are using the Internet, the connection produces high-

pitched tones that can affect your voice calls when using the phone.

Installing a Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) splitter separates the

two signals and eliminates the noise.

To setup a telephone on the POTS Splitter (DSL Microfilter):

a. Locate the phone jack in your house.

b. Insert the POTS Splitter into the phone jack.

c. Plug one end of the telephone cable from the POTS Splitters TEL

port and then plug the other end into the telephone.

3. Connect the power adapter from the modems 12V 0.5A DCport into

the electrical outlet.

4. Press the ON button to turn ON the device.

The Web User Interface (GUI) The Web User Interface allows you to configure all of your modems

functionalities.

Accessing Web Page To access your modems Web User Interface:

1. Launch any web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome). On

the address bar, type the default IP: 192.168.254.254 or

globebroadband.net and press Enter.

2. On the login page, type the username and password.

3. Click Login button or press Enter key. You will be directed into your

modems Web User Interfaces Home page.

Web User Interface The Web User Interface allows you to configure all of your modems

functionalities. The layout and content positioning of the devices web user

interface is mapped below.

Status The Status page of the web user interface displays various summaries of your

modem such as Device Info, ADSL information, LAN configuration, and

Wireless configuration, and connection Statistics.

Wizard The Wizard page of the web user interface allows you to input the PPPoE

username and password that your ISP provides. Click Apply Changes to save

your settings.

Wireless Settings In the navigation bar, click Setup. The tab Setup contains WAN, LAN and

WLAN.

WLAN Choose Setup > WLAN. The WLAN page that is displayed contains Basic,

Security, MBSSID, Access Control List and WPS.

Basic Settings

Choose WLAN > Basic, and the following page appears. In this page, you

can configure the parameters for wireless LAN clients that may connect to

the modem. Click Apply Changes to save your settings.

Disable Wireless LAN Interface

Enable or disable the wireless connection of the device. Once the Wireless connection is disabled, you would not be able to connect to your device wirelessly.

Band Choose between two different bands that your Wi-Fi will use for its signal. The difference between the two is speed.

Mode Allows you to identify the wireless mode of your modem. By default this is set to 802.11b+g+n. It is suggested to leave it as it is in order for your modem to support various devices that have different modes

SSID

Allows you to change the default wireless network name set on your modem. The default SSID can be seen on the sticker underneath your modem. Do take note that the SSID input box also reflects the SSID input box under Security menu.

Channel Width and Control Sideband

Wi-Fi configuration for advanced users. It is advised to leave these features to their default values to provide maximum efficiency.

Radio Power Allows you to adjust the frequency strength emitted by your modem.

Associated Clients

Allows you to limit the number of wireless devices that can connect to your modem.

Security

Choose WLAN > Security, and the following page appears.

The following table describes the parameters of this page.

FIELD DESCRIPTION

SSID Type Defines a group number for different Wi-Fi profiles.

Encryption Allows you to change the encryption used by your modem. By default, the encryption mode is set to TKIP/AES.

WPA Authentication Mode

Select Personal (Pre-Shared Key). Enter the pre-shared key in the Pre- Shared Key field.

Select Enterprise (RADIUS). Enter the port, IP address, and password of the Radius server. You need to enter the username and password provided by the Radius server when the wireless client connects the modem.

Pre-Shared Key Allows you to set / change the wireless password set on your modem. The default pre-shared key can be seen on the sticker underneath your modem.

Mac Filtering

Choose WLAN > Mac Filtering, and the following page appears. In this page,

you can configure the access control of the wireless clients.

If you choose Allow Listed as the Wireless Access Control Mode, only the

devices whose MAC addresses are listed in the Current Access Control List

can connect to the modem.

If you choose Deny Listed as the Wireless Access Control Mode, the devices

whose MAC addresses are listed in the Current Access Control List cannot be

connected the modem.

Multi-BSSID

Choose WLAN > MBSSID, and the following page appears. In this page, you

can configure the multi-BSSID of the wireless clients.

It supports 4 virtual access points (VAPs).It is a unique name to identify the

modem in the wireless LAN. Wireless stations associating to the modem must

have the same name. Enter a descriptive name that is used when the wireless

client connecting to the modem.

WPS

Choose WLAN > WPS and the following page appears.

There are two ways for the wireless client to establish the connection with the

modem through WPS. The modem generates PIN, see the above figure. Click

Regenerate PIN to generate a new PIN, and then click Start PBC. In the

wireless client tool, enter the PIN which is generated by the modem, start

connection. The client will automatically establish the connection with the

modem through the encryption mode, and you need not to enter the key.

The other way is the wireless client generates PIN. In the above figure, enter

PIN of the wireless client in the Client PIN Number field, then click Start PIN to

establish the connection.

Note: The wireless client establishes the connection with the modem through

WPS negotiation. The wireless client must support WPS.

Advanced In the navigation bar, click Advanced. The tab Advanced contains Route,

NAT, QoS, CWMP, Port Mapping and Others.

Route Choose Advanced > Route. The page that is displayed contains Static Route,

IPv6 Static Route, and RIP.

Static Route

Click Static Route in the left pane, and the following page appears. This page

is used to configure the routing information. You can add or delete IP routes.

Enable Select to use static IP routes.

Destination Enter the IP address of the destination device.

Subnet Mask Enter the subnet mask of the destination device.

Next Hop Enter the IP address of the next hop in the IP route to the destination device.

Metric The metric cost for the destination.

Interface The interface for the specified route.

Add Route Click it to add the new static route to the Static Route Table.

Update Select a row in the Static Route Table and modify the parameters. Then click it to save the settings temporarily.

Delete Selected Select a row in the Static Route Table and click it to delete the row.

Show Routes Click to display the IP Route Table.

NAT

Port Forwarding

Click Advanced > NAT > Port Forwarding in the left pane, and the following

page appears.

Port forwarding allows you to configure virtual server so others can access the

server through the Gateway.

Port Trigger

Click Port Trigger in the left pane, and the following page appears.

Click the Usual Application Name drop-down menu to choose the

application you want to setup for port triggering. When you have chosen an

application the default Trigger settings will populate the table below.

If the application you want to setup isnt listed, click the User-defined

Application Name radio button and type in a name for the trigger in the

Custom application field. Configure the Start Match Port, End Match Port,

Trigger Protocol, Start Relate Port, End Relate Port, Open Protocol and Nat

type settings for the port trigger you want to configure. When you have

finished click the Apply Changes button.

QoS QoS

Select to enable or disable IP QoS function. You need to enable IP QoS if you

want to configure the parameters of this page.

Bandwidth Limit

Click Advanced > QoS > Bandwidth Limit in the left pane, and the following

page appears. Entries in this table are used for traffic control.

Port Mapping Choose Advanced > Port Mapping, and the following page appears.

Create four rules through Group1 to Group4. The procedure is as follows:

Step 1. Select Enable to enable port mapping.

Step 2. Select Group1. Then the interfaces are added in the WAN and

LAN table.

Step 3. Select the interfaces that are respectively added to WAN and

LAN. Press Ctrl while selecting multiple interfaces.

Step 4. Click Add to add the interface to the rule

Step 5. Click Apply to save the changes.

Parental Control Click Parental Control in the left pane, and the following page appears. This

page is designed to help parents to control childrens time spent online. The

specified PC can only access to internet in the specified time.

Service In the navigation bar, click Service. The tab Service contains IGMP and DDNS.

IGMP Choose Service > IGMP, and the following page appears. The page that is

displayed contains IGMP Proxy.

IGMP Proxy

Click IGMP Proxy in the left pane, and the following page appears. In this

page, you can enable or disable IGMP proxy. If you disable IGMP proxy, the

modem will discard all the received multicast data packets.

DDNS Choose Service > DDNS, the page shown in the following figure appears. This

page is used to configure the dynamic DNS address from DynDNS.org or TZO.

You can add or remove to configure dynamic DNS.

Maintenance In the navigation bar, click Maintenance. The Maintenance page that is

displayed contains Update, Reboot, Log, and Diagnostics.

Update Choose Maintenance > Update. The Update page that is displayed contains

Firmware Update and Backup/Restore.

Backup / Restore

Click Backup/Restore in the left pane, and the following page appears. You

can backup the current settings to a file and restore the settings from the file

that was saved previously.

Reboot Choose Maintenance > Reboot, and the following page appears. You can

set the router reset to the default settings or set the router to commit the

current settings.

Log Choose Maintenance > Log, and the following page appears. In this page,

you can enable or disable system log function and view the system log.

Diagnostics Choose Maintenance > Diagnostics, and the following page appears. The

page that is displayed contains Ping and Traceroute, Select the option that

you want to run diagnostics.

Router Care Tips 1. Do not deface the router.

2. Do not use any power adapters with the router other than the supplied

adapter as it may damage the device rendering it unusable.

3. Do not let the router get wet, when water gets in contact with the router,

the internal components can corrode which breaks down the router.

4. Install the router on a flat surface and ensure that there is enough space

for air to circulate.

5. Avoid dropping the router, depending on the surface where it lands, the

router can get cracked casing or internal components may get

dislodged affecting its functionality.

6. Clean the router's casing with a soft damp cloth and remove dust that

may cover the router casing's ventilation regularly.

7. Turn off the router and disconnect the power adapter from the power

outlet if it will be unattended for a long time.
