1.4.2 Memory configurations Youmayinstall1GB,2GB,4GB,and8GBunbufferednon-ECCDDR3DIMMsintotheDIMM sockets.

You may install varying memory sizes in Channel A and Channel B. The system maps the total size of the lower-sized channel for the dual-channel configuration. Any excess memory from the higher-sized channel is then mapped for single-channel operation.

AlwaysinstallDIMMswiththesameCASlatency.Foroptimalcompatibility,we recommendthatyouinstallmemorymodulesofthesameversionordatecode(D/C) fromthesamevendor.Checkwiththeretailertogetthecorrectmemorymodules.

Duetothememoryaddresslimitationon32-bitWindowsOS,whenyouinstall4GB ormorememoryonthemotherboard,theactualusablememoryfortheOScanbe about3GBorless.Foreffectiveuseofmemory,werecommendthatyoudoanyofthe following:

- Installamaximumof3GBsystemmemoryifyouareusinga32-bitWindows OS. - Usea64-bitWindowsOSifyouwanttoinstall4GBormorememoryonthe motherboard.

ThismotherboarddoesnotsupportDIMMsmadeupof512Mb(64MB)chipsorless.
